How stupid

Bush really thinks the American people are stupid. I've said that before I'll say it again. Here is Bush today at a press conference regarding the prospect of $4 per gallon gas:

QUESTION: What’s your advice to the average American who is hurting now — facing the prospect of $4 a gallon gasoline, a lot of people facing –

BUSH: Wait a minute. What did you just say? You’re predicting $4 a gallon gas?

QUESTION: A number of analysts are predicting $4 a gallon gasoline this spring when they reformulate.

BUSH: That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard that.

Now I just did a search on $4 dollar gas and

http://www.google.com/search?q=Bush+%244+dollar+Gas&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Again Bush thinks we are stupid.

Born Where

John McCain wasn't born in the United States. He was born in Panama. Since he was not born in the United States doesn't that disqualify him from being President??

2nd amendment

The Supreme Court is going to decide about a gun ban in very violent Washington D.C. and while we know how they will rule I wanted to take a full look at what the constitution says regarding the 2nd amendment. First here is what it says:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am2

Now taking a look at what a militia is:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Militia
1.a body of citizens enrolled for military service, and called out periodically for drill but serving full time only in emergencies.
2.a body of citizen soldiers as distinguished from professional soldiers.
3.all able-bodied males considered by law eligible for military service.
4.a body of citizens organized in a paramilitary group and typically regarding themselves as defenders of individual rights against the presumed interference of the federal government.

Now can someone say that means where anyone can get a gun? I can't. Now as I've said I know they will never ban guns here but if you look it up that doesn't mean everyone should have guns.

Get used to it

I have a suggestion for people who don't like the right-wingers using Barack Obama's middle name:

GET USED TO IT!

The fact of the matter is if Obama is the Democratic Nominee for President (and it looks more and more likely) the right will use his middle name of Hussien constantly to pray the fact that it's the same name as the former Iraqi dictator. Nevermind he really had no choice in that name and nevermind that it's not an uncommon name the right-wing want to pray on fear since they have nothing else they can use against him (at least yet)

Since the right only knows how to attack and use fear that's the only option they have right now.

Big Difference

The following is the difference between Democrats and Republicans in regards of the Iraq war: Democrats want to bring our troops home and Republicans CLEARLY do not. Never is this more evident then the following quote from Republican Kay Baily Hutchison in regards to a bill by Democrats to bring our troops home:

She said the bill would "put a bullet right in the hearts of our troops who are there." Now I'm sorry but is there a more greater insult to our troops then that? She is saying to the troops, some of them who have been there a very long time aways from there families, friends, loved ones that bringing them home would kill them. What a loser.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecrypt/0208/GOP_senator_Dems_Iraq_bill_a_bullet_right_in_the_hearts_of_our_troops.html

One more issue

I got a question: If Obama's race and Clinton's gender are issues in this election as the right is trying to make it shouldn't the fact of McCain's age be an issue as well? After all he is over 70 and does have cancer and that might hinder his ability if it sets back in. I don't wish ill toward the man but that's a fact of his current life.

Who Hates

So I read the headline on Bill O'Idiot's column in the Los Angeles Daily News today which reads the following: Left allows hate to flower

It caught my attention because I wonder how often Bill O'Idiot listens to himself and other right-wingers who preach nothing BUT hate. Just this week in responding to the quote from Michelle Obama which said "For the first time in my adult life I'm proud of America"
http://news.bostonherald.com/news/2008/view.bg?articleid=1074519

Now the right wingers, ever to twist things around did nothing but attack her for the statement and that brings us to O'Idiot who had the following quote "

O'REILLY: You know, I have a lot of sympathy for Michelle Obama, for Bill Clinton, for all of these people. Bill Clinton, I have sympathy for him, because they're thrown into a hopper where everybody is waiting for them to make a mistake, so that they can just go and bludgeon them. And, you know, Bill Clinton and I don't agree on a lot of things, and I think I've made that clear over the years, but he's trying to stick up for his wife, and every time the guy turns around, there's another demagogue or another ideologue in his face trying to humiliate him because they're rooting for Obama.

That's wrong. And I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down."

http://mediamatters.org/items/200802200001

I want to say that first off a commentator on the golf channel was suspended for saying comments similar to that about Tiger Woods but this goes as YET ANOTHER example on how the right just preaches hate. I have so many posts and quotes about the right it's just sick. I wonder what it's going to take to get these guys suspended and fired for these racist hateful remarks that does nothing but hurt our country that they claim they are proud to be from? How many more divisions are going to be made by these hateful men and women before they are stopped.

Same Standard

With the news of John McCain's affair with a lobbyist I wold like to take you to a Senator named John McCain and a speech he gave on the Senate floor in February of 1999:

"All of my life, I have been instructed never to swear an oath to my country in vain. In my former profession, those who violated their sworn oath were punished severely and considered outcasts from our society," McCain told the Senate in February, 1999. "I do not hold the President to the same standard that I hold military officers to. I hold him to a higher standard. Although I may admit to failures in my private life, I have at all times, and to the best of my ability, kept faith with every oath I have ever sworn to this country. I have known some men who kept that faith at the cost of their lives. I cannot -- not in deference to public opinion, or for political considerations, or for the sake of comity and friendship -- I cannot agree to expect less from the President."

That being said John McCain needs to drop out of the Presidential race immediately! Of course the "straight talker" wouldn't want to be a hypocrite would he?

Cuba

With news this morning that Fidel Castro has resigned can the United States finally end the embargo against Cuba? This has been the most stupid situation and if Bush has any brains (I know we know he doesn't) he would end the embargo immediately.

I have never understood the animosity toward Cuba. We have relations with countries like Vietnam, China but you would think relations with Cuba, whether you agree or disagree with the view of the government there, should be normalized. Now is the perfect opportunity especially since Cuba is just about 90 miles away from the United States.

Confused

I realized something on Friday. One death is considered a tragedy but more then one a statistic. In other words no one seems to give a damn. I know this post wil sound harsh but it's a fact. Here is why I think that.

Last week a S.W.A.T. officer in Los Angeles was killed in the line of duty. In other words he did his job where it was a distinct possibility it might happen. Now don't get wrong I know he is an absolute hero but he had a funeral (at taxpayer expense) that was better then a lot of Presidents and it was absolute overkill especially by the media who felt they had to cover the event.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,330872,00.html

But that wasn't the only tragedy of the week as there were many more violent multiple mass shootings that clearly won't get any coverage. Here are a few examples and these people WERE NOT doing a job that it was a possibility as these people were in the wrong place.

http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/california/la-me-oxnard15feb15,1,1414535.story

This is a story of a child who was shot for the sole reason he was gay. Guarantee not much media coverage there.

http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2008/02/15/niu

The mass shooting at Northern Illinois which will get coverage but in the end not as much even there.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-02-09-mo-shooting-victims_N.htm

The mass shooting last week in Missouri. Again very little coverage there.

And again I will comment to all you sick ass freaks who support gun rights how many more of these will happen until your minds are changed. Why is it so wrong to have mental testing and background checks for anyone who wants a gun and why is it so hard if you are convicted of murder to automatically get the death penalty with no appeals or any of that garbage which is also a waste of taxpayer money?

Nice

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/highschool/02/13/female.official.ap/index.html?cnn=yes

So the story goes how a High School in Kansas is not allowing a femake to referee for the reason according to them "as a woman, could not be put in a position of authority over boys because of the academy's beliefs."

I would like to know what the Academy's beliefs actually are? What exactly are they training these people to do?

This also goes to something I posted a few weeks ago about how I'm afraid people won't vote for Hillary Clinton just cause she's a woman. Just a sad state of affairs we are in.

What a jerk

This pisses me off to no end. We lost Democratic Rep. Tom Lantos yesterday. He was the ONLY member of Congress to survive the Holocaust and this a-hole Michael Savage has the following to say about him:

SAVAGE: Who died? What’s his name? Lantos? You know, that’s a tough one for me to deal with. You’re not supposed to talk badly about the dead. I generally wouldn’t do it. But in the case of Tom Lantos, I’ll make an exception. I think he was one of the most — he was a scoundrel. And I’ll tell you why I detested Tom Lantos. The man survived the Holocaust of World War II and used it as a weapon the rest of his life. That’s why. Do you understand what I just said to you? You can’t have it both ways. You can’t suffer such a horror, and then use it as a weapon without people noticing it. You know what I’m saying to you? I didn’t like Tom Lantos.

I mean "people" like Savage who would have NO IDEA what survivors of the Holocaust went through, the torture, the pain, the suffering (my grandfather went through it so I know the stories) but to say this just disgusts me to no end. Now if Savage didn't like him that's one thing but to say HE USED the Holocaust as a weapon is the most vile disgusting disturbing thing I have heard. I hope this a**hole burns in hell for that and if anyone agrees with him they can join him.!

http://mediamatters.org/items/200802120004

Robert I know you are a smart man but I'm sorry I don't see how you can racist, sexist, anti-semitic a**holes like these. I really thought you are smarter then that but since you agree with them and all the statements I post that they say I guess there is nothing else to say except how disappointing you are.

March 4th

I think we have to wait til March 4th for the final resolution of the Democratic Presidential Candidate. We have the last two big states in Texas and Ohio that day. Obama has all the momentum right now winning big on Saturday and an expected sweep tomorrow of Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.

Hillary Clinton needs to win big on March 4th or she should split the race.

Stupid

Bush thinks the United States public is stupid. It's obvious. Here he is today on false news:

WALLACE: Mr. President, what are the chances that we’re either in a recession or headed for one?

BUSH: I think the experts will tell you we’re not in a recession, and they will tell you that there’s a lot of uncertainty. And therefore, the question is what do you do about it.

I realize as I said Bush thinks the public is stupid but I guess he doesn't even believe THE FEDERAL RESERVE CHARIMAN.

http://www.usnews.com/blogs/washington-whispers/2008/01/22/in-private-bernanke-tells-horror-stories.html?s_cid=rss:in-private-bernanke-tells-horror-stories.html

Bush face the problem and deal with it instead of running away from it as you always do. But then again once a coward always a coward!

Do we or don't we

I have one question that hasn't been asked and that should define whether waterboarding should be torture or not: If it happens to one of our troops would it be considered torture? I ask because if it is then we shouldn't be doing it to other countries prisoners.

Winers and Losers

So with Super Tuesday behind us now it's time to look at who won and who lost yesterday.

Winners:
John McCain. He cemented his status of the leader of the Republican Party Presidential candidate. It will take a huge run for anyone to catch him now.

Mike Huckabee. He shocked a lot of people by winning a few states showing there is some life in his campaign. If McCain was smart he would consider him to be his Vice Presidential Candidate.

Democratic Voters. A graphic showed on CNN today showed that they out-voted Republicans 14.4 million to 8.7 million. A Very good sign for November.

Barack Obama. He picked up more states then I figured but not the big ones that were up for grabs.

Losers:

Mitt Romney. He only picked up 5 states yesterday. He has the money to stay in the race but the question is will he?

Hillary Clinton. Maybe the bar was set too high and she won some states that were leaning toward Obama but reports indicate that her campaign is struggling and she had to do what Romney does and put $5 million of her money in her campaign.

The delegate process. It's confusing, especially the Democratic way of choosing delegates and the fact there is no winner take all like there is in there is in the Republican Party. And the fact that with the alleged "super delegates" who can vote anyway they want who might not lean toward the voters will might turn off a lot of people in November.

Anyway that's my view

Just Remember

As tomorrow is primary day just remember whether you vote for a Democrat or Republican just vote tomorrow. It is as important of an election for either party so vote for the person you like the best.

Wow

The Super Bowl was one of the greatest upsets in history. I thought the game would be close but the too talented Patriots would win. Boy was I wrong. I got the margin of victory right but I picked the wrong team. At least I made the right wager

**Disclaimer just because I bet doesn't mean you should listen to any of my prediction and of you do you should do so at your own risk and if you pace a bet and lose you are responsible and I am not**

Nice

God bless False News for the racism and sexism they promote. And to think the alleged liberal New York Times hired this idiot as a columnist.

BILL KRISTOL: Look, the only people for Hillary Clinton are the Democratic establishment and white women. The Democratic establishment -- it would be crazy for the Democratic Party to follow an establishment that's led it to defeat year after year. White women are a problem, that's, you know -- we all live with that.

First if the idiot on False News would bother looking at exit polls he would see that's a mis statement in general as people of all ages and sexes have voted for her. Second even if that statement were true if I recall when Bush stole the election again in 2004 a majority of "soccer moms" helped give him a big boost.

Not surprised False News puts morons like him on the air but they should fact check what he says.

What a shock

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/02/01/business/exxon.php

For those who don't think the record high gas prices are nothing but a scam look at the record profits for oil companies like Exxon. This is another reason why the economy is in the tank and no one is really talking about.
