Yesterday, the Bush Supreme Court upheld the horrible Bill Clinton policy of Don't Ask Don't Tell where gay and lesbians cannot openly serve in the military. I realize President Obama has a lot to deal with but as a candidate he promised to repeal this horrible policy and that is one thing that needs to be done. President Obama do the right thing.

An Interesting Week

The week should be interesting as the debate on healthcare starts. It's about time our government joins civilized nations in offering healthcare to those who want it. Again it's something that needs to be done.

In fact that was one of the main reasons we were told we had to invade Iraq. So since Cheney admitted he lied he, like Bush, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell should all be charged with war crimes. He murdered over 4000 American troops and who knows how many Iraqi citizens based on these lies. Damn him.

Speeches

I just saw President Obama's speech direct to Muslim nations. I have a mixed bag about this because being who I am religiously I don't want to be friendly nations who sole purpose is to destroy Israel and its citizens however at least President Obama is doing something Bush wouldn't know how to do if his life depended on it and that is make an effort for peace and not war.

Easy Target

I see where the Mn. Gov. isn't going to run for a third term fueling speculation that he is going to run for Pres. in 2012. Really he is an easy target all Democrats will have to do is run ads how he refuses to seat the ELECTED SENATOR of Minnesota so Norm Coleman can try his best to get the LEGALLY COUNTED VOTES overturned.

I'm not sure if you realize Regan is, as I've said before, the most OVERRATED PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME! I don't know how people think he did as much as Republicans claim he did but he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AS PRESIDENT.Give me a break! He should have been in jail for Iran-Contra.

Words and consequences II

Remember a few months ago there was a threat assessment that had the right up in arms? It said had domestic right-wing hate groups were increasing and they needed to be monitored and the right was pissed off? Well it turned out it was dead on and the first victim was a Dr Tiller who was murdered in Kansas Sunday. His only crime was he performed abortions. Minding everyone it is a LEGAL PROCEDURE. A man associate with right-wing pro life groups gunned him in a church.

Why do I have the title words and consequences in my post? Well I'd like to present you with these links and how Fox News and specifically Bill O Idiot is an accessory in this murder by encouraging acts of violence. I know he will never be charged but he is clearly in part responsible:

And I do take that into account. When I have a case involving someone who's been subjected to discrimination because of disability, I have to think of people who I've known and admire very greatly who've had disabilities, and I've watched them struggle to overcome the barriers that society puts up often just because it doesn't think of what it's doing -- the barriers that it puts up to them.

So those are some of the experiences that have shaped me as a person.

Words have consequences

I want to take you back to the speech where Bush had his infamous "Axis of evil" of North Korea, Iran and Iraq. Bush then proceeded to attack the weakest of the three in Iraq and what Bush's words have since meant.

They meant that since then North Korea and Iran have acquired nulcear materials and are now threats that the new President Obama has to deal with while before Bush said those words they were annoyances but not threats. Good job yet again Bush.

Not Letting Me Down

Since to see "people" (and I use that term more and more loosely) like Newt and Rush etc. not let me down. A Bad Choice

What I find amusing is if the right would take the bible out of most of their arguments they would have none.

But I would like to comment briefly on the horrible choice the Supreme Court made yesterday upholding prop 8. They gave into the religious freaks who bullied their way into California from out of state. Really it's a case between the majority and what is right. The right thing would be to allow gay marriage. Bad choice.

What a brilliant move from President Obama in announcing his Supreme Court Nominee. It would say a lot of anyone who opposes her. She was nominated by the first Bush. She is well qualified. A great choice.

A Big Day Coming

So Tuesday is the big day. The day the California Supreme Court will announce it's decision about prop. 8. I hope they overturn it but I doubt they will and that's what scares me. Prop. 8 was a measure financed by church groups based solely on their beliefs and nothing else. They bullied people with ads saying what a horrible precedence gay marriage will bring even though the scarier precedence is if it is allowed to stand. Really who would be stopping the church if they say now that black people can't marry white people? Or fat people can't marry skinny people? Nothing. That's the scary part is how powerful the church is when really they shouldn't have any say in this what so ever. Whatever happened the life liberty and the pursuit of happiness? The church obviously doesn't want that!

Oh My GOD

So I saw where Rush is actually begging MSNBC to stop mentioning him on the air. He is just like the bully who can attack people but can't take it. I hope MSNBC and anyone who wishes to (including me) attack him for the drug addicted pig he is. If you dish out insults and attack be prepared to receive. Free speech doesn't just apply to him it applies to anyone.

Hypocrisy At It's Best

Here we have Newt Gingrich, disgraced former house speaker continously trying to make a story for Nancy Pelosi even though there is none. But if you want the ultimate hypocrisy I will like to bring you to a quote from Newt back in December of 2007:

So what happened? Democrats in the Senate voted AGAINST shutting down Guantanamo Bay Prison. Why? It's a slap in the face of the President and really pathetic. Bad move.

People Forget

Funny how people seem to forget where they live. We live in earthquake country in Los Angeles and every so often there are quakes to remind us exactly that. There was one on Sunday (4.7) and an aftershock yesterday (I think about a 4). Naturally the media is freaking out trying to create panic saying that the big one is coming. It might be I've been hearing about it since I was a kid but really what in essence can be done? All you can do is be as prepared as possible and hope you don't ever have to use the tools you know.

So Darth Vader was interviewed on CBS yesterday and said one of the most disgusting thing I've seen ever. And again if you wonder why I call Republicans racist this is part of the reason. He was asked by the commentator about Gen. Colin Powell and said "I didn't even know he was still in the Republican Party". Now considering what Powell did for the Bush Administration going to the United Nations about Iraq and helping enable the nightmare there and how in a large part he is responsible for soldiers dying in the illegal war that is such disrespect. Disgusting.

How to talk to children

There is a letter in today's Los Angeles Times where the writter asks what to tell his child about Manny Ramirez being suspended. I actually think the answer is simple. Tell the truth. In other words say the following (of course word it to the maturity level of the child)

Manny Ramirez was suspended for taking something that isn't allowed in baseball. He will not be playing for a couple of months. He has not in the past been suspected of taking steroids and there is no indication that this is steriods but he cheated and he will not be playing. Once he is back it's up to you whether you cheer for him again or not.

I see where Michael Savage is upset where he is banned from going to England because of the hate he spews when he hosts his radio show. I just have to say poor baby. I have no sympathy for these lunatics. I know when I speak there is a responsibility for my words. If there are consequences because of them there are.

Day of What??

Today is supposed to be a day of prayer. Which is a government issue that clearly violates separation of church and state. This was started under Clinton, intensified under Bush and looks like privatized under President Obama who is clearly making this a private affair even though this is clearly a violation of the rule. Just like I should not have my religion forced upon anyone who doesn't want it I should NOT have a religion (christianity) forced upon me especially since I feel they are responsible for many of the violence of the world.

Why can't you accept that Franken won the election and allow Minnesota to be represented by the person they elected? Why can't you "get over it"?

So President Obama wants to close the loopholes that allow businesses to protect profits overseas in places like the Cayman Islands and not pay taxes on them. I say that's a great idea, but I doubt it will happen with the business influence on both parties. But it's something long overdue.

A New Party

So for those who want a third party I think I have a theory. I think sooner rather then later people like Specter, Bayh, Collins, Nelson, Snowe (in other words moderate Republicans and conservitive Democrats) will form their own party cause really there is no room in either party for them. That's my theory anyway,

Leave it to the Republicans to turn something that isn't much of a story and turn it into a political issue. Some Republicans are actually blaming the non story of the swine flu on illegal immigrants despite the facts showing otherwise. For instance the cases in New York were from people visiting Mexico on Spring Break. But that doesn't stop the lies.

100 Days

So today is the 100th day of the return of sanity to the White House in President Obama. He has accomplished a lot (most recently the defection from Arlen Specter from the Party of Cowards to the Democratic Party) but he does have weaknesses such as a willingness to cooperate with a party (again the Party of Cowards) that will do nothing to support him no matter how great his ideas are and who are openly calling for a revolution against the elected President.

One thing he promised open government we have it he promised change we don't have it completely but we are getting there. His is incredibly popular despite the media being against him and he is getting the job done.

Overkill or fair warning?

So I'm sure everyone saw the Press Briefing about the swine flu yesterday. I think they did a decent job in trying to get everyone informed but of course I feel the media did overkill the story. Let's face it in our country of hundreds of millions there are only 20 confirmed cases so far. s usual the media plays to fear instead of facts even though that's what the Obama people were trying to give.

Don't get me wrong we need to be informed but there is a difference.

So the GOP says we need to embrace Nuclear Energy like the country of France? Someone please correct me but isn't this the same country who after saying how Bush was lying about the Iraq Weapons of Mass Destruction they wanted to rename things like French Fries and French Toast to Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast? That's the GOP nothing but hypocrites.

What to do

So the big question of the week is what to do with those who authorized the torture of prisoners captured in the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan. To me it's very simple: If there is evidence of wrong doing those who authorized and carried out need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And there is legal precedence:

And I do have a question: We have an American Citizen who is being held in Iran. If she gets tortured should we be upset? I think we have no complaints if she does.

This might surprise you

Did anyone catch the controversy with Miss California during the Miss America event? Actually their really shouldn't be any. Miss California was asked by Judge Perez Hilton (whoever the hell he is) what her thoughts on gay marriage were and she said she thought it should be between a man and a woman. Simple enough and as much as I disagree with her she is absolutely entitled to her own opinion.

But she might have a lawsuit on her hands because Hilton then goes off on her on youtube saying that it cost her being Miss America and if that is the reason that is completely wrong. Everyone, right or wrong, has a right to their views and really is that a question that should be asked during an event like that.

What did she expect?

So I see where California Rep. Jane Harmon is upset that the NSA was using their authority that she voted for to listen in to her coversations. My question is what did she expect? Bush was going to use that to listen into American citizen conversations everyone with a brain knew that he would use that to his advantage. Why did she not know that it would happen Bush's word? Give me a break she got and is getting at she deserves but we should know who else.

More Phony Outrage

In yet another phony outrage Republicans are using the media they control to attack President Obama for the crime of shaking Venezuela President Hugo Chavez hand and being nice to him. First off I know Chavez is not a nice guy BUT we need to be reminded a few things about him:

In the cold winters back east Chavez (not Shell, Exxon) has offered cheaper heating oil to those who couldn't afford the high gas prices that were going on by American Companies


And if they are upset about that why weren't they upset at photos that show Former Sec. Rumsfeld shaking Sadam Hussein's hand or Nixon in China or Reagan, both Bush's in Russia? Oh yeah Republicans are STUPID!

Wrong Move

So President Obama released the memos from the Bush Administration authorizing torture. I think President Obama's strength is also his biggest weakness and that is his desire to move away from Bush. These people who ordered, authorized and applied the torture should be prosecuted, convicted and have the same done to them as they did to other people and for what? NOTHING ACCOMPLISHED FROM IT. Sorry Mr. President you are wrong for doing nothing.

So the latest phony outrage from the right is the Department of Homeland Security report saying how recruitment from domestic right-wing terrorist organizations has increased and there is increased chatter. What the right-wing media said (idiots like Rush, O'Idiot, Hannity etc) is this is purely political (nevermind there was a report a year ago saying how left-wing groups are gong to use cyber attacks) but let's take a look at the past few months to prove that this is a legitimate concern:

First during the campaign. You had Palin and McCain encouraging violence

So today is the fourth anniversary of my website. I am proud of it (the fact I've committed myself for this long still amazes me) and I will continue to post news and commentary showing how stupid and absurd the right wing media and Senators and Congressmen and Congresswoman are by using their words quoting them not out of context but in context as they are.

Get Out

I saw when I got home yesterday how Texas Gov. Rick Perry said at the phony tea party that Texas could withdraw from the union whenever they want. First doing the research (something apparently Republicans can't do or won't do) they can't according to a Supreme Court Ruling in 1869. Second I think the following steps needs to be taken:

A) The stimulus money Texas received needs to be taken back. It's obvious they don't want it
B) That border fence needs to be moved to Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Lousiana to keep Texans out of the United States
C) Next time a hurricaine, fire, tornado, drought or any of the other disasters that hit Texas happen there should be NO FEDERAL HELP! They want to be on their own let them.
D) Perry needs to be arrested for TREASON. That's what his statement implied. For that matter so should Chuck Norris who said the same thing as Michelle Bachman from Minnesota who said the same thing. That is TREASON and should be treated as such!

You want to incite violence there needs to be a direct result of your actions!

A Day of Tea

Against my better judgement I figured I should check out the local tea party and maybe talk to a few people to see why they are so angry. Interesting responses and a small crowd. It always amazes me how ignorant people are.

I asked one person why he was there. The response was I'm against being taxed by Obama to fund Wall Street bailouts. I asked him if he knew that the bailouts happened in October under George Bush in fact reminding him how McCain "suspended" his campaign in order to deal with the crisis. He insisted I was wrong even though I'm not and he simply walked away

I talked to a woman there (by the way at this rally I noticed not many latino's or african americans or asians just mainly white people) why she is here. She said she is against the spending going on in Washington. So I asked the simple question was she upset when Republicans under George Bush ran up the record deficit and erased the budget surplus that Bill Clinton gave us? She walked away.

So I went up to another gentleman carrying a sign saying "Don't take away my guns" and I asked him what has President Obama said are implied that indicates he will do that? His response was "Glen Beck said he would". I asked if Glen Beck asked you to jump off a cliff would you? He walked away in typical response to reasonable questions I asked today.

That's how it was. The people at these protests don't know who they are really upset at and would rather be guided by False News then facts.

Misplaced Anger

I was trying to aviod talking about the phony "tea parties" that's being heavily promoted by Fox and Right-wingers. The reason is as I said it's a complete fake and the anger is completely misplaced.

First for those who don't understand or remember their history the Boston Tea Party was one of the pre cursors for the American Revolution. Which makes sense since the right has said they want to overthorw the elected President.

Second if you listen to the reasons why the protesters claim they are angry it's completely misplaced. Here is what they claim they are upset about:

A) The Wall Street Bailout. First it wasn't President Obama who did it. It was George Bush. Bush set this up in October. So you should blame Bush and not President Obama cause it was Bush who wanted and received the bailout.

B) Record deficit spending. Again it was THE REPUBLICANS under George Bush who ran a record deficit. Not President Obama. Place the blame where it deserves to be

C) (And this is the one I understand the least) Taxes. Speaking for myself my paycheck has INCREASED and not DECREASED. Tell me where taxes has been raised on a NATIONAL LEVEL? They haven't been. Now at state level yes but not ON NATIONAL LEVEL. Again people aren't believing facts on that.

It's over?? Not yet

I don't understand something. The vote in the Minnesota Senate happened in November. The recount happened, Coleman appealed lost the appeal Al Franken should be certified as the Senator of Minnesota hence giving the state two Senators. But since Coleman is a SORE LOSER who can't accept defeat (funny how the media said that about Gore and Kerry but isn't saying that about Coleman) Minnesota isn't getting the representation they voted for and their Governor won't let Franken go to the Senate pending Coleman's appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court putting his own needs, as Republicans always do, before the voters desires (again as Republicans always do). This is one of the things I hope voters remember.

Pirates

You also know about the hijacking of the ship in Somalia and the Captain who was freed yesterday. I would like to say congrats to the U.S. Navy, the brave people aboard the ship and most importantly President Obama who gave the order to the Navy to do what is necessary to free the Captain.

Now we know the Republicans are going to find a way to blast President Obama since that's all they know how to do. Smear. But this was his first foreign policy test and he passed with flying colors. And the best part compared to the previous idiot in office is there is no victory lap from President Obama he did his job and moved on. THAT'S a true leader!

Cuba

In my last post I commented how Republicans need enemies I forgot to mention Cuba. You may or may not know that members of the Black Caucus visited Cuba last week and got, as usual since that's all they know how to do, got blasted by Republicans saying how can they meet with the Castro Brothers based on their human rights? I was wondering where that outrage is with countries that they want to do business with like oh say China, Saudi Arabia and many others that have far worse governments and violate human rights? Oh yeah they are silent there.

I hope President Obama lifts restrictions against Cuba. It's been way too long!

What Republicans Really Need

I think I figured it out. What Republicans really need. They need enemies. It has to be it. They obviously have no ideas but the ones the constantly fail. All they do is attack because of it. Here are examples:

Gay Marriage
Illegal Immigration
Democrats
Media even though it's truly right-wing
everything else
Muslims

They only attack. That's why they are no longer in power. They need enemies cause they think it will make them stronger but instead it makes them weak.

Whoo is really an activist?

What I always find amusing from the right is whenever a court or judge rules on an issue they disagree with they call those judges "activist judges". Always. As the latest example I present the Iowa Supreme Court which recently allowed same-sex couples to marry. I say bravo to them. But I wonder when judges who actually are activist in their rulings (aka our SURPREME COURT in the ruling of Bush vs. Gore) why there is no outcry? Just the usual hypocritical G.O.P.O.C (for those who need a reminder that stands for grand old party of cowards which is what they are) selves.

Shut Up Part 2

So in my previous post I implored Republicans to "shut up" now you may know that three police officers were killed in Pittsburgh but you don't know the reason why. This is from the AP:

This IS A DIRECT RESULT of John McCain, Sarah Palin and the hate they smeared during the campaign as well as Rep. Michelle Bachman and Chuck Norris calling for a revolution against the President which they have! They are accessories to the officers murders and if the D.A. would have any guts would charge them as such. As I said theRepublican Party needs to SHUT UP ONCE AND FOR ALL before they lead to more deaths. This isn't the first time this happened and until they SHUT UP won't be the last!

One Request

I have one simple request for Republicans: Please shut up! There are reasons why you are not in power anymore. Your policies ruined this country. You constantly lie about the ELECTED PRESIDENT OBAMA and what he is doing to get out country on the right track you continuously blame him for getting us into the mess we are in (even though YOU DID) and you are openly campaigning about having a "Revolution" as Michelle Bachman and others are saying when that is clearly treason! As I said SHUT UP!

If anyone who is liberal said about Bush what Republicans have said about PRESIDENT OBAMA we would have been told or called "un-patriotic" or " treasonous" or "we don't support America" the fact is YOU are the ones who put us where we are and if you look at the latest poll from ABC News and the Washington Post the PUBLIC knows that! So as I said SHUT UP!

You always run on deficits you never have new ideas (and I realize that's part of the reason why you hate Obama cause he has good ideas) and until you regain power (which you won't at the rate you are going and the disaray your party is in) you need to SHUT UP you treasonist losers!

Double Standard

I would like to talk about a double standard President Obama has created. And yes I disagree in part with this. Yesterday he demanded and received the resignation of GM Head Warren (or is it former now) I was wondering who in Wall Street has been demanded to resign? No one. Why has the auto industry been asked to go through so many hoops to receive bailout money BUT Wall Street hasn't?

I think we need answers on that cause the same standard should apply to both.

Is It Coming

So I was watching the news last night before I went to bed and saw the headline I've been seeing for years: Is the "big one" coming? And let's face it no one knows for sure.The fact is there have been "earthquake swarms" along one of the stretches of the San Andreas Fault that scientists claim could trigger the "big one". One thing I know is it will come sooner or later (hopefully much later) and you have to be as prepared as possible cause even with a sane person as President as we have now if the "big one" hits it would be a disaster of such huge proportion FEMA would NOT be able to handle it.

Differences

I hope you notice the difference in Bush and President Obama. Last night in the press conference we had someone who actually thinks before he speaks and doesn't look like he has a deer in the headlights as Bush did. President Obama looks confident and Bush looked scarred whenever he spoke. President Obama has intelligence and Bush well was less then that. President Obama has done an exceptional job for what he has had to work with while Bush created the disaster we are in.

And also I'm wondering when the media is going to start to blame Bush for this mess instead of President Obama who has to clean it up?

Is It Working?

Well at least in part it appears President Obama's economic plan is working. The Stock Market is getting higher at least some, if you see housing sales rose in the last month and if you saw new unemployment claims fell last week. All good signs but there is still a long way to go.

Piling On and other things

I'd like to talk about two things and more proof how the media is right-wing. There were two cases where the media just used to pile on President Obama were there just wasn't a story.

First when President Obama made his NCAA Basketball Tourney Picks. He picked North Carolina to win (as did I actually) which got a response from Coach Krzyazewski from big rival Duke. What the full media showed was only part of the statement which said "Obama should stick with the economy." What the media did NOT show was his full statement which said how he supports Obama and what he has done. But here are a few of the stories.

2nd I want to talk about the Jay Leno joke. First if Obama bowls a 129 that's better then I can bowl right now and I'm not in the Special Olympics. He said the joke. Apologized it should be over. Nope the right-wing media just uses that again to do nothing but hammer President Obama. I have so many comments by Republicans where they didn't have to apoligize for but this is incencitive? What a joke.

Again nothing but more proof what the media really is.

AIG

Looking at the AIG mess specifically who is to blame:

First it's de-regulation. Sorry if Wall Street wasn't de-regulated this would easily be prevented along with Bernie Madoff. And this is yet another example why this policy never works as companies like AIG become "too big to fail"

Second Sec Tim Geitner. You showed at the very least you are weak. At the very most you are involved in fraud. You should be fired.

Third Republicans. This is a mess created in the late 1990's when you de-regulated the industry when you were in charge of Congress and the Senate and insisted on this legislation. And if I recall before Robert jumps all over me he is the one who says the President only is in charge of the military so many times when I rightfully attacked Bush this is not Clinton's fault using Roberts words although..

Four: Bill Clinton. You should have vetoed this legislation which created this mess.


Now that being said I would like to go to the hearings. I thought Barney Frank stepped over the line and sounded like McCarthy when he demaded the names of those who received bonuses. Now would I like those names to be public? Yes I would BUT he sounded like he was grandstanding.

Two Outrages

I got two topics I would like to talk about today. They are related.

First we have AIG. They claim they have to pay $165 of taxpayer dollars toward executive bonuses because "we have to because of contracts" and "we have to retain the best and brightest". I have a couple of responses to that:

1) Contracts are re-negotiated all the time. Ask the auto-workers, airlines, teachers and so many others I can name.

2) These "best and the brightest" are why you are in the mess you are in. They should NEVER be rewarded for ruining a company and deserve to be fired

3) President Obama claims his hands are tied. I realize this is the part that was negotiated by former secretary and former head of AIG (no conflict there) Paulson but you should sign an exectutive order saying taxpayers will not pay bonuses for failed companies. That's the easy way.


Second I bring Dick Cheney. He said in response to the economic crises we are in because of his and Bush's policies "stuff happens"

Stuff happens. And you wonder why Republicans are not in charge anymore.

How many more?

I was just wondering how many more of these mass shootings are going to have to occur before someone decides to take up gun legislation again? While I know even though the 2nd amendment says "well-armed militia" and not "everyone can have guns" it will never be overturned but I have what I feel are common-sense ideas for sensible gun-control. And it's more then anything I've heard coming coming out of Washington.

A) A strict background check for gun owners. I really never understood why groups like the NRA are against that. There is nothing that can't be bought after a background check.

B) Stricter penalties. If you are convicted for murder you should automatically get the death penalty. After all doesn't the bible say eye for an eye?

C) If you are a minor you should be charged as an adult. Period. Also see above

D) The guardians of minors should be accountable. They should not only pay damages but should also face jail time. Parents should know what their children are doing and if they are not responsible enough then they shouldn't be parents!

E) Gun shop owners and trade shows who sell guns need to be accountable. First see the background check and if guns bought in their stores or trade shows should be fined, shut down, or also even charged as an accessory.

Now if anyone says more guns are the answer they are stupid. Period. More guns creates more problems. Anyone who says otherwise has no clue in the reality of life.

Well according to this Chuck Norris said the Republican Party is a terrorist organization and as one they need to be arrested. It's really that easy and it SHOULD be done because they are clearly a threat to this country and should be treated as such. If you look at the article he is calling for a rebellion against the ELECTED PRESIDENT (something we haven't had the past 8 years). Now last I checked you cannot make a threat against the President even if you don't mean it but this is serious when you call for the overthrow of the government. Sad part is there are people out there who believe him as I've posted before.

As usual he represents the party of hate and divide and if he doesn't like the fact Obama is THE ELECTED PRESIDENT like I was told many times with Bush I was told to get out so my advice to Norris and anyone get out of America if you don't like PRESIDENT OBAMA!

Also wondering if this was a liberal media, which we all know otherwise, why a threat on the President isn't news?

Again the usual double-standard applies and I also wonder where the complaints were when Republicans were running up the deficits as they were with these same earmarks?

An Open Letter

I'd like to give a copy of a letter I emailed to former Sen. Norm Coleman

Dear Former Senator,

Mr. Coleman how are you. I hope you are well. I'd like to talk about what you are doing to your state. You are hurting your state. One of the things I was constantly told in 2000 after Bush stole the election was get over it. Democrats lost. I offer you the same advice. Please drop your legal challenges. You lost the election. Unlike Florida all votes were counted. By continuing the legal battles you are waging against Sen. Elect Al Franken you are putting your ego before the needs of your state who decided they wanted someone else. I realize you might be humiliated as someone who has lost elections to a wrestler (Jesse Ventura) and a comedian (Al Franken) but there needs to be a time when you have to realize that it's over for you. I realize there is pride and ego involved but the question you need to answer is what is more important: Your pride and ego or your state of Minnesota.

Now realize if Sen. Elect Franken doesn't do a job that the people of Minnesota demand of him they will not re-elect him but until then you are not the Senator from Minnesota anymore. Enjoy your life. You will probably earn more money doing speeches then you would as Senator.

In closing former Sen. Coleman the ball is in your court. You can do what's right and drop the challenges or continue to hurt your state of Minnesota. The choice is yours.

A New Name

I have a new name for the Republican Party. They will no longer be called the G.O.P. but the P.O.C. That stands for Party Of Cowards. That's all they are and they show it more and more. Take a look at the alleged head of the P.O.C. Michael Steele. He rightfully said what drug addict Rush Limbaugh really is and after Rush attacked Steele basically saying "don't you know who I am" Steele like the rest of the cowards crawled with his tail between his legs and apologized to him. They are nothing but cowards and until they find their identity they will be cowards.

C-Pac

I paid a little attention to the C-Pac convention over the weekend and I heard a common theme throughout: Taking "our" (meaning conservative) country back.

I got some questions:
Since when is this ONLY a conservative country?
Do conservatives forget their policies got us where we are right now in this recession with de-regulation and trickle down economics?
Will they ever offer new ideas?
Every Republican should be asked is Rush right in wanting President Obama to fail?
And do they not realize if President Obama fails the whole country fails due to Republican policies?

I watched Karl Rove on This Week yesterday and have to laugh out loud at him. He was preaching fiscal responsibility. This is from the same party that turned a budget surplus left by DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON that was turned immediately into a record deficit. This is from the party that ruined our country cause they didn't manage our economy and had the worst tax policies on record. If I hear another Republican preach about fiscal responsibility after the Bush Administration I'll scream. They are liars regarding that false pretense cause they do not practice what they preach!

10%

I would like to thank our governator. He terminated unemployment 10 %. What irks me more then anything is it's the people at the bottom who pay for the bad decisions from the people at the top who not only get to keep their jobs but get bonuses from those bad decisions. Really I would think that companies would save more money if they fired more people at the top instead of the people making minimum wage at the bottom. But I have logic.

Arrest him

Shawn Hannity needs to be arrested for making a direct threat on President Obama. There is a poll on his website advocating overthrowing the elected PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. You can't even joke about something like that. It's scary cause you always have nutjobs who will believe and try to do as Hannity and so many other right-wingers want. And you know they do. I won't link to the poll cause I don't wanna give help to someone advocating TREASON like Hannity is!

Another thing that's directly related to this treason is how there are more hate groups who are blaming Obama for the economy that he inhereted from Bush. Pathetic but what do you expect from Republicans.

Two More Notes on Tuesday

So I finally got around to watching the Republican response from President Obama's speech on Tuesday and I really have one thing to say:

If Bobby Jindal is the Republicans best chance in 2012 they are in big trouble.

He was horrible. He was not ready for primetime and it showed. Sarah Palin looked better then him and if they both run it will be an easy repeat for Democrats.

Also wasn't it nice to be talked to as adults as President Obama did instead of like children as Bush did?

Do They Know?

I wonder if MSNBC knows that the election is over and Obama won? During last nights speech they were comparing Obama supporters and McCain supporters like during the debates. Again the election happened LAST NOVEMBER so crap like that doesn't need to happen anymore cause Republicans don't matter.

Refreshing

If anyone saw PRESIDENT OBAMA'S speech tonight it was so refreshing. Refreshing to hear common-sense ideas for our country, refreshing to hear proposal's that actually benefit common people instead of the wealthy and refreshing to hear common-sense ideas about what oru place should be in the world.

So refreshing from the previous administration.

But it's clear a few ideas Republicans won't accept since they don't care about common people just the rich snobs and anyone who saw the speech saw this too

Affordable college for everyone. No fanfare from the Republicans who sat there
Better more affordable health care for everyone. Silence for the Republicans
No no bid contracts for Iraq. The silence from Republicans was golden as Halliburton won't get to kill anymore troops

As I said I like watching Republicans squirm.

Running Scared

The funniest thing I've heard recently is how scared Republicans are of the "fairness doctrine" even though I've not heard anything from the Obama Administration about bringing it back. I've heard the fear in voices from people like drug-addict Limbaugh and Hannity just at the mere thought of having (god-forbid) equal voices on the air.

Personally I would love to have options of my listening to talk radio. I don't think it will happen but just the thought of these know-nothing idiots squirming makes me happy.

Three Questions

Where President Obama is raising the troop level in Afghanistan I would like three questions answered that we never got from Bush which is why we haven't achieved victory there:

1) What is the mission in Afghanistan
2) What would be considered victory
3) What is the exit strategy

I think before we send more troops we need those answers.

Their own desires

I see where the REPUBLICAN Governors of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alaska are threatening to refuse the money from the stimulus package. What these three people have in common is they are interested in running for President in 2012. Honestly that will hurt if not end all of their chances because I can see the ads that Democrats will rightly run against them showing how many jobs were not created based on the Republicans egos, how many homes were lost, how many projects not started. It will be a beautiful thing.

Meanwhile the Governors are putting their own needs instead of those for their states. Pathetic but what else is new from the Republican party.

What a shock

I'd like to bring out the two latest Republican double-standards. First I present Kit Bond (R, Mo.). He sent out the following press release:

Now I really wouldn't have an issue with this BUT Bond voted AGAINST THE STIMULUS. He is a typical Republican taking credit for something he voted against. He shouldn't receive any benefits from the stimulus.

2nd I present Ms. Palin. You remember her. It's actually sadly hard to forget her since she won't let her 15 minutes expire. She was ordered to pay taxes on property she was using. Just wondering why she is still Gov of Alaska when not paying taxes disqualified Tom Daschle from becoming Secretary of Health and Human services. Why is there no call from the same Republicans for her resignation? Also why is it none of our business on what she owes BUT we had to know what Daschle owed?

Again just the usual double-standards from Republicans.

Issues vs. Personal

One of the main differences between Robert and I (funny outside the website we're good friends) is I stick with issues but instead of disagreeing with me and making an intelligent argument why Robert would rather go with a personal attack against me. He doesn't like the fact that I blame Republicans for the state of our country right now even though they have been in charge since the 1990's when they seized Congress and the Senate on the phony contract on America.

The best example on that other then a few posts down where Robert's latest feeble attempt to smear me is when I made a comment (it's in the archives) about how horrible it would be for our country if our auto industry went down and I pointed out how it's simple union busting. Robert instead of making an argument why I'm wrong on that went on to attack the fact that I drive a Japanese car. Which I do but if he bothered to actually read my post nowhere did I say you had to buy American because you have a choice to buy whatever you chose but, as usual for Robert, made absolutely no argument what-so-ever against my point.

I figure there are a couple of reasons why:
A) Robert can't make an argument and would rather attack me
B) Robert won't make an argument and would rather attack me
C) Robert agrees with what I say and is too proud to admit it and would rather attack me
D) Robert really doesn't understand the issues I talk about and just attacks me

Either way Robert also questioned why I attack Republicans with such venom. Really Robert how would you feel if you have been called un-American if you don't blindly support Bush as I have been the past 8 years. How would you feel if you have been called un-patriotic as I have if you don't support Iraq? How would you feel if you feel if you have been told I don't support our troops as I have been since I disagree with Bush? I would not say anyone is unpatriotic if they disagree with President Obama and I would never expect anyone to support everything Obama will do in the next 4 to 8 years. And Robert keep in mind and something you really don't talk about I will happily agree with any Republican that has an idea I like and again if you would bother to look at my site you will see examples. You will also see examples of times I disagree with Democrats. Yes my attention is on Republicans but they deserve it for how our country is right now. And yet they still offer the same ideas that got us where we are. In other words THEY DON'T WORK!

And really Robert as you know me personally you would know how I've been outsourced twice during the Bush years and I've gone from making a decent living to struggling to get by every month. You think I want to live where I am? I don't I have to. I have real reason cause it's Republican policies that lead to this. I have real reasons to hate these people.

So really Robert I guess it all comes down to this. If you want to talk issues fine. If you, like the typical Republican you are, wanna to do smears that's fine I fight back I don't take bull$shit especially from someone who doesn't make a point otherwise.

Robert I would love to have an intelligent argument on the issues. I really would but if you want to go the low road you seem to forget I know you too and I'll be very happy to go round for round with you

A-Roid

So Alex Rodriguez issued his phony apology yesterday. Fine as I said it doesn't bother me in the least what he chose to do with his own body. What does bother me is Bud Selig saying how he tried to ban steroids since 1995 and he was fought by the union which is a lie. He, like most of baseball, enjoyed the huge home run derby between McGwire and Sosa in 1998 and he probably wouldn't have done anything unless Congress pressured him. And the fact is as an owner he knew steroid use was going on and turned the other way.

But I do have a question: Why hasn't anyone called the former owner of the Texas Rangers George Bush on that? He had to know what was going on and he is just as guilty because he looked the other way like everyone else.

The link shows more of the same McCain complaining how President Obama HAS NOT been bi-partisan. How dare he. President Obama met many times with Republicans wanting to hear their ideas and they offered none. The one who didn't offer anything is the Republican Party, as usual.

One more thing. In terms of releasing the stimulus money if anyone voted against it they shouldn't receive any money. It's really that easy cause obviously their districts don't need it. HOW DARE the California Leglislature have the nerve to give 1 billion dollars of TAX BREAKS to CORPORATIONS while RAISING TAXES on gas, vehicle fees and sales tax. HOW DARE ARNOLD, who ran on the fact that Gray Davis wanted to raise the vehicle fees and swore up and down he would never do that, agree to this disaster. HOW DARE REPUBLICANS, who recalled Gray Davis on the vehicle fees have the NERVE to give these tax breaks to the people WHO DON'T DESERVE THIS! In the latest attempt to embarass President Obama Republican Sen Gregg dropped out of being nominated for Commerce Secretary. I hope this is the last straw for Obama as Republicans do not in any circumstance want to help him or the country in any way shape or form. I understand his desire for bi-partisanship but Republicans don't care.

Talking Baseball

I don't understand Dodgers owner Frank McCourt. He has a huge tv contract. He has the money to get ballplayers and well doesn't. It's horrible. I mean the Dodgers dropped at least $60 million in payroll for no reason. They draw fans. They get money from the tv contract. There is absolutely no excuse.

This year they could have made an effort to get C.C. Sabathia, who wanted to be here in Los Angeles, they chose not to. They are playing games with Manny Ramirez when they shouldn't and the alternatives they had in mind, Adam Dunn and Bobby Abreau have signed elsewhere. I guarentee they will not be successful if they don't sign him. I know what you get with Ramirez but they need him.

On that thought the pitching is suspect at best. Billignsly is coming off a broken leg. Kuroda looked decent at times but still has question marks, can they rely in Kershaw? Claudio Vargas? Jeff Weaver??

Really they should have re-signed Derek Lowe more then anything. You know you get a guy who eats innings and is reliable.

I think it's going to be a long year.

All the sudden?

When Bush seized the White House in 2000 you had the Republicans throwing out their alleged fiscal responsibility (which we know is an absolute scam to begin with) and gave Bush approval for the tax cuts for the wealthy and the Iraq War which has lead us to where we are today. In complete debt and in a depression.

Now we have a Democrat who is trying to fix Bush's mess and all the sudden the Republicans have become the just say no party. All the sudden they are what they claim to be since they are not in charge anymore.

And by just saying no Republicans are saying no to President Obama and are not offering any new ideas as usual.

Isn't that the definition of being a hypocrite?

Double Standard

Can someone tell me why David Vitter is still in the Senate? Let's take a look at the double standard in the right-wing media. First you have Democrat Elliot Spitzer of New York who had to resign for having sex with an escort. You also have John Edwards who had an affair and took all sorts of heat for it (mind you I'm not saying they didn't deserve it). But you have Republican David Vitter of Lousiana who also had sex with an escort but still is sitting in the Senate. You also had Republican Larry Craig who had male sex in a bathroom who also was able to serve out his term. Nothing happened to them the alleged liberal media never called for anything to happen to the Republicans but called for the heads of the Democrats (insert pun here) So I guess if you are a Republican you are allowed to have sex with hookers or affairs but if you are a Democrat you aren't. Again more proof of the double standard by the right-wing media.

Again these people claim to be the party of morals.

Refreshing

Isn't it refreshing to have a President who actually answers questions (unlike George Bush) who will go to places that didn't vote for him (unlike George Bush) will take questions with those who disagree with him (unlike George Bush) and actually speaks the English Language (unlike George Bush) and who talks straight with the American People (unlike George Bush). I think it's refreshing and he made the Republicans look like complete amateurs yesterday. Thank you President Obama.

Moving on

So Alex Rodriguez admitted he used steroids. To me, like using pot, that's no big deal. Other then himself who has he really hurt and really hasn't he helped the game with his great play? In the end it's his body that's going to live with the consequences of his choice as long as he is not hurting anyone else now if he ever does then the book should be thrown at him at that point.

And also these tests were supposed to be kept confidential I think Rodriguez should sue Sports Illistrated, the baseball union, major league baseball and all those responsible for the leak. I have a few thoughts on who it is but can't really speak cause I might be sued.

God bless the Republican Party. Seriously. Rep. Pete Sessions (R,Tx.) actually compared them to the Taliban. You know the terrorist organization that Bush overthrew in Afghanistan. Yes them.

Nevermind how many time Obama spend how many times trying to get Republican votes for the stimulus package they are the ones being obstructionists. Sessions is just sick which is yet another reason why Republicans aren't significant right now.


In all honesty it's very simple. If he is saying Republicans are terrorists then they should all be arrested and sent to whatever prisons we have left, tortured, held without legal representation for as long as President Obama sees fit. It's the only logical thing to do since Sessions said Republicans are terrorists.

On a serious note the one thing is obvious. If anyone doesn't vote for the stimulus package that means that their states are not hurting and they don't need any of the money. So they go to the end of the line in terms of receiving any of the funding that will be available and the Senators, Representatives will have to go to their constituents and explain why their states, counties, cities have no money. See how that would play out.

In 2001 the Republicans had no problems giving $1.3 trillion dollars to the wealthy which has lead us to where we are now in terms of a depression BUT when Democrats want to fix Bush's mess you hear about wasteful spending. What complete losers these "people" are.

Funny also with Robert saying how those were "pork" on Democratic ideas but I heard nothing about the same "pork" when Republicans were DOING THE EXACT SAME THING TO THEIR BILLS!

Tell me

Tell me what the hell Michael Phelps did that was so wrong? So he smoked pot. Did he hurt anyone? No. Was he doing anything destructive? No. He was just smoking pot and the press is treating him like he killed 30 people. I think we need to re-prioritize what's wrong here. It's really pathetic.

What it really does

So we have a lesson from the Republicans on what trickle down economics really does. For years Republicans ran up the deficits, that trickled down to the states running up their deficits making states like California so broke we won't get our tax refunds. All it does is ruin economies.

By the way have you noticed that when Democrats who saw this coming got either recalled (like Gray Davis) or humiliated (like Eliot Spitzer). That's what you get for telling the truth.

Amen to President Obama for wanting to put a cap of $500,000 for salary for those executives who receive bailout money. I think that's the best idea he has had yet.

It's nice

Isn't it nice to actually hear a President say I screwed up as Obama did with Daschle? His team did less vetting then McCain did with Palin.

One more thing if not paying taxes disqualifies you from office shouldn't McCain have been disqualified from running for President? I have a story in my archives of him owing taxes on one of the houses he didn't know how many he owned.

I agree with Republicans there

$448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters.

• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters.

Bush's baby the Department of Homeland Security would need priority funding I would think. Republicans of course don't think

$600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.

Why would Republicans want to clean up the enviornment? This would help that

$400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD's.

Republicans refuse to think long term. More people who can prevent STD's and the earlier they are able to detect them the less long term heath care costs there will be.

$1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs

Again Republicans refuse for whatever reason to help the enviornment

$125 million for the Washington sewer system.

$150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.

$1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion.

$75 million for "smoking cessation activities."

$200 million for public computer centers at community colleges

To me this would be a no-brainer. But then again we are dealing with Republicans. Everyone should have access to computers.

75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI.

The people on the frontline in the United States on the War on Terror. They deserve it

$25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction

$500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River

One can only look to this past year for major flooding on the Mississippi. You don't think this would help?

Republicans won't want to help the enviornment at all.

$500 million for state and local fire stations

$650 million for wildland fire management on forest service lands

These I feel should be a state issue (I know Robert will faint when he sees this)

Wouldn't putting people to work be a good thing

$88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service

$412 million for CDC buildings and property.

It's must sure be nice to have the refs on your side as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals yesterday. Horrible officiating tilted in favor of the Steelers gave them the game.

Just wondering

Just wondering for any Catholic out there how they can support a religion that allowed their priests to molest young children and when rumors came out they, instead of firing the priests, just transferred them away so they could continue to harm more children? Cardinal Roger Mahoney is now under grand jury investigation and since he knew that it was going on he is at least an accomplice to these crimes and should, along with EVERY PRIEST INVOLVED, be thown in jail! That's those Catholics for you.
