Ahh yes my favorite Sunday target Bill O'Reilly. He is so twisted with his views it's funny. For instance today's column in the Los Angeles Daily News he is upset about that in California voted to include people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or trasngender who have contributed to the economic, political, and social development of California and the United States of America.
He then tries to funny saying kids will be studying "gay 101"
Now first I should point out I am not gay. I have friends who are gay and lesbian and have no problem with that. We are who we are. No one should be able to tell anyone who to live thier lives.
But here are my problems with O'Reilly and his ilk. If it was up to them, we would have nothing but religion in schools and science would be gone. Problem is they are close-minded and think that since the "alternative" lifestyle is wrong. They think the bible preeches against it and that is their core belief the bible. I'm even sure they would throw in jail if they had their way anyone who is gay.
I wonder if they realize VP Cheney's daughter is gay and they spit on her everytime they say stupid ignorant things like this.
I guess what I'm trying to say is what's wrong with learning about people who are gay who made contributions to society?

An Odd Thought
http://www.thinkprogress.org/
So we have Bill Gray, a meteorologist who is skeptical about Global Warming, make the following quote "Gore believed in global warming almost as much as Hitler believed there was something wrong with the Jews."
OK so we have facts that are Global Warming, we have Al Gore who made a movie called "An Inconventient Truth" about Global Warming and this person is in denial about it he makes THAT quote??
Now I realize I have made the comparrision of Bush to Hitler but when I have said it I have backed up with things I think are accurate.

an observation
One of the things I noticed on the convictions of Skilling and Lay is I hardly, if at all, heard about their connections to Geroge W. Bush. There are many. Use of corporate jets, again the mysterious energy meetings, huge donations made, George having the nickname "Kenny Boy" for Lay. Just wondering why they weren't made.
The reason I bring this up is I remember when John and Susan MacDougal were convicted all you heard about were the connections they had to President Clinton.
LIberal media indeed.

A bad idea
http://www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=4950686
So the House voted to drill in the Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve. Bad idea. First we do not have an oil shortage. The only reason the prices are so high is only greed. Second instead of drilling for more oil shouldn't the House, Senate and Pres be finding alternative fuels but I guess Bush wasn't serious about ending our dependency of foreign oil in his State of the Union address.

Guilty
So Ken "Kenny Boy" Lay and Jeffrey Skilling of Enron have been found guilty of conspiracy and fraud. Wonder if the following will occur:
A) How much, if any jail time will they get.
B) Will their friend George Bush pardon them. Don't think it might not happen.
Remember especially in California how Enron ripped us off in our energy problems a few years ago and in part in the recall election of Grey Davis and how we are stuck with Arnie? Remember that. Remember Bush refusing to step in with his good friend and remember the secret energy meetings where the White House is refusing to release who was there. I think it all is adding up here.

Sports Icons
I wanna change the subject a bit tonight. I am listening to the sports station here am 570. http://www.am570radio.com and they are talking about everyone's views toward their top 3 sports icons in Los Angeles.
Here is my list:
1) Luc Robotille of the Los Angeles Kings
2) Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers
3) Fernando Valenzuela of the Dodgers
I'd like to know what you think if you are in Los Angeles as well as wherever you live. Who would you say are the top 3 sports icons of your city?

These are Democrats?
I'd like to talk about the Democrats who are running for the Senate and Governor in the state of Alabama.
http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/print?id=1992681
Here are there names and important views:
Larry Darby, seeking the party's nomination for attorney general, denies the Holocaust occurred and recently spoke at a gathering of National Vanguard, which describes itself as a "pro-white" organization.
Harry Lyon, who wants to become the Democrats' gubernatorial candidate, has advocated killing illegal immigrants as a way to keep them out of Alabama.
I thought only Republicans were this far from reality I guess it's bi-partisan. As much as I want Democrats to take over the House and Senate I would NEVER want ignorant people like them in any position of power.

NFL in Los Angeles
I guess the inevitable is coming. The NFL is going to return to Los Angeles and I promise you I won't be going to any games where they want to play. The Los Angeles Memorial Collisseum. The stadium is a dump. I guess they are going to renovate it but if you have ever seen the area it's in it's not pretty. No real public transportation and parking is a big disaster.
Here are a few questions I'm going to have: As always first and formost who is going to pay for it cause I don't think taxpayers SHOULD pay for ANY stadiums/arenas since the owners can easily afford it and I am against any taxpayer funded statiums. It's like being invited to a party and being told after you arrive you have to pay for food/drinks.
Will we get an expansion team or a relocated team? I think that will have a lot to do with how the city supports the team. I think an expansion team would be more popular because it will be something the city can call it's own.(I know the Dodgers and Lakers and Clippers are relocated teams)
I would also like to know what relocated team/s would we be getting. Facts are if we get a team like the Chargers who's owners don't care about the team we won't support them.
While they renovate the Colliseum where will USC play? Rose Bowl would probably be the only reasonable option as a UCLA fan I wouldn't want the stench that is USC Football played there. Then again I don't think they would play at Dodger Stadium maybe Home Depot Center.

Da Vinci Code
Another movie is out that's getting panned by the religious right. Just like Brokeback Mountain did just like even Harry Potter did. You may recall how the religious right kept saying how Harry Potter was evil and had (godforbid) magic. So now we have the Da Vinci Code (which I will see this time unlike Brokeback Mountain) and we have the religious right saying that there is no way Jesus got married and all that nonsense. Just have a question: I'm not saying it is or is not I wasn't there when the bibble was written BUT who says it can or cannot be true? I don't know really you can't say for sure one way or another. All the movie should do is make you think.
But I guess the religious right wouldn't want that.

Another Broken Promise
One of the things not mentioned by the "liberal" media this week is that huge tax-cut for the wealthy included a tax-increase. http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Bush_breaks_1999_pledge_to_veto_0520.html
That's right the tax rate is going to triple for teenagers with college savings funds but not one person in the "liberal" media mentioned that. Also not mentioned was in 1999 Bush said the following "If I were elected president,I will oppose and veto any increase in individual or corporate marginal income tax rates or individual or corporate income tax hikes."
So much for that promise. I guess Bush wants to make College unaffordable as well. Just like gas.

English Only
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/18/AR2006051800242.html
I've talked about knee-jerk reactions here is an idea that might seem good but won't work in reality. The Senate passed a law making English the official language of the United States. Now again on paper that might be a good idea but here are a few questions I have:
1) Who is paying for this
2) Will there be "penalties" if you don't speak english
3) Who is going to go in and teach people who speak Spanish, Muslim, Itallian,Chinese or any other language to speak English.
Now the only thing is might just be a "symbolic gesture" or in other words lip service but I think these are legitimate questions.

Another Photo-Op
After seeing Bush on a Hum-V yesterday trying to give the impression he is doing something about the border and immigration I'd like to respond to a letter in the Los Angeles Daily News today praising Bush for being the first President to do something.
So far nothing has been done. We saw Bush's proposal (which I found a few of them reasonable) but Congress and the Senate have to pass the laws. Until they do (which really won't do much) Bush and Congress and the Senate have done nothing.
By the way none of the laws will help UNLESS YOU GO AFTER THE EMPLOYERS WHO HIRE THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! Otherwise it will be worthless.

Barry Bonds
Every so often I like to take a break about talking pollitical stuff and take on other issues. I'd like to talk about everyone's(except in San Francisco) least favorite baseball player Barry Bonds.
Now being a Los Angeles Dodgers die hard fan I'm no fan of Barry Bonds especially since he plays for the hated ones the San Francisco Giants but here is my question to everyone out there who boos Barry Bonds outside of Los Angeles - why?
I know the allegations of him using steroids and people thinking that it's cheating but remember when it was alleged he was using steroids it was legal. And the fans fault in part. Remember fans want to see homeruns fans want to see things like what McGwire and Sosa and Bonds did.
Now did Bonds use steroids? I suspect he did but again there is no proof and again it was legal at the time so it doesn't matter. Now if you hate Bonds cause he's a jerk (when Bonds hit homerun 713 in Philly when the fan who caught it Bonds refused to sign the ball saying get the "f" out of here) that's fine. I hate him cause he plays for my rival team. But don't hate him because he's accused of taking a legal (at the time) product.

Huh
More racist stuff from the right.
Here is his full statement un-edited.
SAVAGE: We are living through -- and I'm going to connect the dots for you rapidly -- a low-grade communist revolution in the United States of America. Let me explain. When Mao Zedong took over China, after a certain period of time, the doctors were taken out of the surgical wards and put into the laundries and made to do laundry. And the communists took the laundresses who were uneducated dolts and took them to the surgical rooms and said, "Perform surgery." When the young women who couldn't -- who before, were laundresses were told to perform surgery said, "But I don't know how to do it," they were shot as counterrevolutionaries.
What we have today as a result of affirmative action and unchecked illegal immigration is the equivalent of a socialist revolution in the United States of America, where intelligence itself is not only suspect, but intelligence itself will soon be declared racist and a trick of the white man. And so if your student works very hard -- your child works very hard and gets a straight-A average, you will hear the affirmative actioneers say, "Why, those grades mean nothing. Life experiences are what count." And the life-experience racket is how they've been able to push dummies ahead of the kid who gets straight A's.
That's how they can take submorons and make them the captain in police forces, while the white man, who gets, let's say, a 100 on a written test, is given a 50 on an oral test with an aggregate score of a 75. So a dummy who got a 50 on a written test can be given 150 with an extra grade for being not white and come up with an aggregate score of 100 and be made the white man's captain inside the police departments of the United States of America. Do you understand what I just said to you? Well, you do if you're a white man and you're in the police department.
They have a new racket. They don't call it affirmative action. The racket works like this: First, they give you a written test, which you can't cheat on. So if the white guy gets, let's say, a 98 or 100, they then give him what's called an oral exam. The oral exam is conducted preferably by a lesbian and a person of color who usually gives the white man a 30 or a 20 on the exam for not being properly communicating. [sic] Then, of course, if they get a minority in there who got a 30 or a 40 on the written exam, they give him a 100 or a 150 on the oral, and so the minority winds up with a higher aggregate score and he becomes the captain in the police department. That's called communism.
Actually not one to correct Mr. Savage but to me Communism is government that spies on it's own people is communism. A government that takes away freedoms of it's own people is comminism. That's wrong but again I wonder where Mr. Savage keeps his white hood.

Oh man
I'd like to give the following Bill O'Reilly quote you tell me if it's racist. It's not edited in anyway (found at media maters) "many far-left thinkers believe the white power structure that controls America is bad, so a drastic change is needed."
I wonder where O'Reilly's white hood is. This is to me obviously racist. What's wrong with diversity in government we see where the current power structure is in Washington.

When Animals Attack
I'd like to talk about something that's been all the rage on the news which is the rash of animal attacks (specifically alligators) in Florida lately. You see ladies and gentlemen I know what's going on we've been getting that here in California lately and it's really simple actually.
Man builds homes, roads, offices into natural habitat of animals.
Man takes away animals natural food supply.
Animals find other sources of food.
It's really that simple.

Observations
Just a few observations on W.'s speech last night. 5000 National Guard troops are they going to replace the 6000 Border Patrol Agents he fired after 9/11?? Also with all the attention being paid to Mexico I wonder if he or anyone knows the hijackers on 9/11 came through Canada? Also the 9/11 Commission said there should be 10,000 more troops. Just some thoughts on a bad idea.

Taking a look around

So Karl Rove thinks "the people like the President" I wonder if he is looking at the polls where I've seen him anywhere from 29%-40% in his approval ratings? I guess he's as dillusional as Bush but what else is new since he is known as Bush's brain.

One More Thing
One more thing about the loser Bill O'Reilly today: He actually has the nerve to say Liberals are near fascism because of the speakers I wonder if he is watching our right to privacy go away I wonder if he is watching George BY GOD Bush turn our democratic country to something straight out of Nazi Germany? I wonder if he realizes this but I doubt it.
