Congress shall make no law recognizing religion. That's what the amendment says. Now I say this because of the case of Hobby Lobby bringing to the Supreme Court how the Healthcare Law violates their religious freedom.

Institute a MINIMUM salary cap. Teams like the Florida Marlins, Houston Astros should not be rewarded with money by failing to put a competitive team on the field. The fans should NOT be punished by their owner desire for mediocrity. There needs to be competition.

Eliminate the salary cap. Except for rookies

Who gets to vote

So with the gutting of the Voting Rights act by the Supreme Court I would like to remind people a few things. I consider the right to vote the most scared right. I haven't missed an election since I became of legal to vote in 1988.

Republicans don't want you to vote. We can take a look at recent history where Republicans didn't want the legal votes to count in Florida in 2000, or Ohio in 2004, or what they are doing today in Texas, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and many other states the clear indication is they don't want every citizen who is eligible to vote to be able to do that.

So with the lucky no real penalty Ryan Braun got for ped use I'd like to suggest this: If MLB, and all of sports really,  were really serious about cracking down on all ped's and their usage the following penalties:

A)  Players Contracts are immediately voided
B)  Players have to return all money already paid to them
C) When their suspensions are served, they have to make the MINOR league minimum for the reminder of their careers.

I say this because Braun just signed a contract extension worth well over $100 million dollars. This 65 game suspension will only cost him a little over $3 million. What is the real incentive to change??

Tension

While nobody seems to be breaking from the tension with North Korea and, well everyone, I seem to remember it started going downhill when the last President Bush named them in the "Axis of Evil" yet he chose to do nothing about it. Guess they didn't have enough oil.

I do not feel Syria is a threat unless they attack Israel. Otherwise it is their civil war and we should not be involved.

Great Theater But

So I want to talk about the murder suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher.

I give this link cause a couple weeks prior he was knocked out of a  game after a hit to the head and suffered amnesia. Now if this has anything to do with what happened we won't know. But there have been several players who have had concussions who have killed themselves.

What are the solutions.

Normally you look at players who suffer injuries and they are given their jobs back once they are healed. Lately, that has changed. If you look at both Alex Smith and Michael Vick, both qb's weren't given their jobs back after suffering injuries. That will have players worrying and not identifying when they are seriously hurt. That is a mistake.

What is the NFL's and NFLPA's responsibility? It is both of their responsibilities to make sure their players are safe. Safe and healthy. Problem is you obviously can't take hitting out of the game. If there is any question the players should be examined immediately BY INDEPENDENT DOCTORS. Not team employed doctors.

The NFL has let this go on for too long. Unless stricter measures are taken to protect the players, we might have to (I know how the right will feel) have a Government come in. The NFL is fully capable with the billions of dollars that come in to hire independent people, but to this point they are choosing not to.

It begins again

I'm not a religious person. If you think religion is the answer for you I say go for it. It's not for me. No one chooses a path for me I am responsible for my own actions.

Every year I get amused by the phony outrage by conservatives who claim there is a "war" on Christmas. There isn't. It's simply a choice by stores and people who choose to be all inclusive because, last I checked, there are several holidays in December.
