So let's reverse this.
Say Justice Ginsburg passed. Say the Democrats had control of the Senate and there was a Republican President.
If a Democrat said we need a liberal justice, the laughter would be loud. You know a Republican would nominate the most conservative person available. And Democrats would have the decency to bring it up for a vote whether they like this person or not.
So what we have is a Republican majority who doesn't want to govern.
