Here is my question

I'm pro labor in pretty much everything. I believe in a strong workforce. I would like to comment on the nba lockout. I'm wondering why everyone hates the players who are not responsible. The owners, who are claiming they are losing 300 million dollars but REFUSE to open the books, are not taking any blame.

I wonder why? I'm not against people making money but why is it only the athletes are deemed greedy in these cases? The OWNERS are the ones CHOOSING to cancel games.The OWNERS are the ones who are killing the jobs for the arenas yet all I hear taking the blame are the players. I'm sorry that's wrong. I'm not against the owners making money as I said but owners will be around the same team for dozens of years, they will make money if they are smart every season. Players are the ones who are taking a chance. Players are limited to their time on the court in the case and when an owner is done with a player he will dump the player the first second he gets. And it's funny how the players are the ones who are told how much they can make yet the owners can make unlimited amounts of money.

Now I'm against guarenteed contracts. I think they should due away with them. But again why should one group be told how much they should make and others shouldn't?

So here are my ideas how to get the economy going again. Corporations won't like it but this will work

1) End ALL free trade agreements. The simple reasons they are in a large part what's killing jobs around here

2) Any company who chooses to move their headquarters overseas pays a huge tax to do business here. (remember Halliburton did that recently)

3) Any company that moves jobs overseas faces a $100,000 fine PER JOB.

4) End ALL tax credits for companies who are paying less then 5% in taxes. There are many

Now Republicans claim that tax breaks are what creates jobs. We know that's bullshit. Businesses are paying less taxes then ever and are receiving record profits and ARE NOT HIRING. But those idiots continue the same bullshit which NEVER WORKS.

the fires raging in Texas. Everyone should know that Perry would never ask for federal assistance. That would make him the biggest hypocrite in the Republican race.

Rep. Michele Bachmann could explain that the federal payouts to her family farms were really to other family members, and her lobbying for federal money for a new bridge is, well, helpful.

To hear The Times tell it, Republicans are happy to denounce the government and use it for their benefit at the same time.

Football

So with all the talk about a football stadium being built here let's talk about a couple of things:

First it's not going to be taxpayer funded. It's privately funded which is a good thing.
Second I don't want a retreat team. I don't want the Chargers, Raiders, Rams, Vikings, Bills, Jaguars or any team currently in the NFL. I think Los Angeles should get an expansion team otherwise we will not go to games. We deserve a team to call our own.
Third I don't see the need for an NFL team. I'm happy watching the best games on television every week.

So both Bush and Cheney have books out. Both men claim they were in charge when the 9/11 attacks happened. Both have lied so much they can't even get their stories straight about that tragic day. Both men don't even use the word tragic to describe that day.

Bottom line is this: Despite his claim he couldn't know an attack was coming, FACTS show a month before in a Presidential daily briefing an attack was coming. Maybe cause Bush was on vacation he didn't really care. So the attack could have perhaps (again I say the word perhaps) been prevented but Bush we also know wanted to be at war. Any war. This is Bush's biggest failure!

We all know the tragic case in Fullerton (at least around here) where cops beat to death a homeless man. The persons father has been all over the news trying to get I don't know. I know this may sound harsh but where was his father during his life that allowed this man to be homeless? Why didn't he help him? Now it's just seems that he wants money. Which sadly he will get.

So the latest phony outrage about President Obama is how dare he take a vacation in times of economic turmoil. Keep in mind Congress is off on a vacation right now as they seemingly always are.

But let's see I remember hearing nothing about the MONTH LONG vacations Bush took. Keep in mind he was told on vacation that a terrorist attack was coming. Did nothing. Bush was also vacationing when Katrina hit. The response he was in charge of was delayed.

She also called “girl-on-girl kissing” a “plague on society” and asked divine forgiveness for the violation of a woman’s “natural use.”
– The Statue of Liberty is a “demonic idol”: In various sermons, John Benefiel called the Statue of Liberty a “demonic idol.” He also expressed a belief that homosexuality is a plot contrived by the Illuminati “to limit the world population.”

The lying liars

So let me remind you of the PROPER history of the mess we are in now. Despite what the lying liars of the GOP are telling you.

When President Bill Clinton left office in 2000 after Bush stole the election, we had a budget surplus. Bush decided to empty that surplus instead of saving it for a rainy day. He gave tax cuts and drained it. Then Bush started two wars (which he kept off the books) so we didn't know how much it cost and Republicans didn't care. No one (including Democrats) seemed to question or challenge anything Bush did while in office. Bush said many times in office (again unquestioned) it's not my problem I'm leaving it for the next President. Who happens to be President Obama.

Now all the sudden Republicans want deficit reductions (and no raising of the revenue) President Obama is questioned by the media on everything he does unlike how Bush was treated. And contrary to Bush he doesn't run and hide for months at a time.

Also remember Bush said he the tax cuts for the rich are going to create jobs. Record job loss under that as  always. Like trickle down economics never work as always.

President Obama is an adult surrended by the Republican children who cry and whine and moan about everything and get nothing done.

So remember REPUBLICANS ran the deficit. REPUBLICANS are responsible for the current shape of  the country. REPUBLICANS are solely responsible for the mess we are in.

If this factual history isn't reason enough  NEVER to vote for a Republican in any election. I don't know what the hell is.

The speech

So every year around the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday I post the speech. Here it is

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.
Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.
But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.
In a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.
As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied, as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "For Whites Only". We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.
Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.
I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

Two wrongs

File this under two wrongs do not make a right here. One of the victims in the shooting in AZ went to the head of the AZ Tea Party and said "you're dead". I realize the anger and it should be directed towards the tea party. But don't stoop to their level. They brought this atmosphere on (even though they should have started under Bush who actually did the things they accuse Obama doing) however instead of threatening them how about pressing charged or suing them for libel? If you really want to hurt them that is the best way.

Huh?

So there is an op-ed piece in the Los Angeles Times by an other Stephen Randall. He is actually comparing Glen Beck and what he says to Keith Olbermann and what he says. Of course Mr. Randall is wrong. You see Kieth Olbermann never threatens anyone like Beck does. He never calls Republicans racists who hate black people like Beck has said about President Obama (he said Obama is a racist who hates white people). In fact if you search your recent history about Mr. Beck (and I use Mr. loosely) he is responsible for the deaths of Pittsburgh Pa. police officers

You cannot say Keith Olbermann cause he hasn't and if he has I wouldn't be having this conversation. Threat speech comes from the right who take advantage of week minded people to carry out their dirty work. Until they are arrested and charged as accessories to these crimes (examples I posted yesterday show you can) more incidents like those in Tuscon will continue to happen.

The big issue

I want to talk about the big issue regarding the tragedy in AZ. Actually there are a few. Media maters has a great piece about how the right constantly uses threats of violence against the left. You had the drug addict Limbaugh openly calling for the overthrow of the President, you had Sharon Angle calling for "second amendment remedies" you have Sarah Palin and the disgusting cross hair add on her website, Bill O'Idiot about Dr. Tiller and you can go on and on. You see I believe in an honest debate. We have the right to agree and disagree as much as we want. But when there are threats, and you have people who are weak minded, and you have such easy access to guns, the situation becomes like in AZ. That is what really needs to change. the threats. And for those who don't think words matter I have two examples. First Charles Manson, he never killed anyone but his words influenced his followers to kill. Second the Ft. Hood shooter, everyone accepts the fact that he was influenced by the words of a Muslim Cleric.

By the way one  note about Mrs. Palin. In defending herself (not apologizing) she used the term "blood libel" in attacks against those who dare to question her. Blood libel is a disgusting anti-semetic term used by Christians against Jewish people. I know she knows that and I will not let people forget she used that term and what it says about her.

One more  note and that's about yours truly. When the shooting happened I assumed by logic (wrongly) that the shooter was an active tea party member. The fact that this was a congresswomen and judge who have received death threats. As of this moment I am wrong.

Last thing speaking of the tea party. Those sick freaks are using this tragedy to hold fundraisers. Nice people huh?

I'm back

Sorry for no posts in the last month but my computer sucks. I think I'm back and will start posting. I will talk a lot about the shooting in AZ as I think it is an important topic.
