Words have consequences

I want to take you back to the speech where Bush had his infamous "Axis of evil" of North Korea, Iran and Iraq. Bush then proceeded to attack the weakest of the three in Iraq and what Bush's words have since meant.

They meant that since then North Korea and Iran have acquired nulcear materials and are now threats that the new President Obama has to deal with while before Bush said those words they were annoyances but not threats. Good job yet again Bush.

Who is racist?

I'd like to present a quote from Newt Gingrich. Just in case we need a reminder who is racist (hint: it's not the Supreme Court Nominee)

http://www.bartleby.com/66/72/24972.html

If combat means living in a ditch, females have biological problems staying in a ditch for 30 days because they get infections.... Males are biologically driven to go out and hunt giraffes.

So you want a reminder who the racist is it's as usual the Republicans. The party of middle aged white males.

Not Letting Me Down

Since to see "people" (and I use that term more and more loosely) like Newt and Rush etc. not let me down. They are the racists and they call the new Supreme Court Nominee one based on a partial statement she made in 2001. I found the statement and there is nothing racial about it just honesty (which is something I guess they are not familiar with).

Here is a link to that statement:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/15/us/politics/15judge.text.html?_r=1

Robert why aren't you calling out Newt and Rush etc. for those awful comments like you do me? Oh yeah you are a coward like them.

A Bad Choice

What I find amusing is if the right would take the bible out of most of their arguments they would have none.

But I would like to comment briefly on the horrible choice the Supreme Court made yesterday upholding prop 8. They gave into the religious freaks who bullied their way into California from out of state. Really it's a case between the majority and what is right. The right thing would be to allow gay marriage. Bad choice.

Brilliant

What a brilliant move from President Obama in announcing his Supreme Court Nominee. It would say a lot of anyone who opposes her. She was nominated by the first Bush. She is well qualified. A great choice.

A Pack of lies

The Los Angeles Times yesterday ran speeches from "Wartime Presidents" including Bush. Here is the lies he stated.

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-ed-memorial25-2009may25,0,1334936.story

Some in this chamber, and in our country, did not support the liberation of Iraq. Objections to war often come from principled motives. But let us be candid about the consequences of leaving Saddam Hussein in power. We're seeking all the facts. Already the Kay Report identified dozens of weapons of mass destruction-related program activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations. Had we failed to act, the dictator's weapons of mass destruction programs would continue to this day. Had we failed to act, Security Council resolutions on Iraq would have been revealed as empty threats, weakening the United Nations and encouraging defiance by dictators around the world. Iraq's torture chambers would still be filled with victims -- terrified and innocent. The killing fields of Iraq, where hundreds of thousands of men, women and children vanished into the sands, would still be known only to the killers. For all who love freedom and peace, the world without Saddam Hussein's regime is a better and safer place.

-- George W. Bush,

State of the Union address, January 2004

Breaking down the lies:

Some in this chamber, and in our country, did not support the liberation of Iraq. Objections to war often come from principled motives.

-- Actually it was the MAJORITY of people

But let us be candid about the consequences of leaving Saddam Hussein in power.

-- Since he was contained nothing

We're seeking all the facts.

-- No he was seeking the facts that fit his lies

Already the Kay Report identified dozens of weapons of mass destruction-related program activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations.

-- The U.N. weapons inspectors, you know the people on the ground, said he had none

Had we failed to act, the dictator's weapons of mass destruction programs would continue to this day.

-- He wasn't interested in getting any

Had we failed to act, Security Council resolutions on Iraq would have been revealed as empty threats, weakening the United Nations and encouraging defiance by dictators around the world.

--You mean crippling the people of his country??

Iraq's torture chambers would still be filled with victims -- terrified and innocent.

--Like he ordered??

The killing fields of Iraq, where hundreds of thousands of men, women and children vanished into the sands, would still be known only to the killers.

How many were caused by his orders??

For all who love freedom and peace, the world without Saddam Hussein's regime is a better and safer place.

--And the proof is??

A List

So I saw where they have listed the best rock n roll songs of all time and once again Stairway to Heaven wins. I disagree with that myself and while not trying to disrespect the song, in my opinion (and all these lists are are opinions) here is my top 10

9) Another Brick in the Wall Part II (Pink Floyd
8) Pinball Wizard (The Who)
7) Fortunate Sun (CCR)
6) Stairway to Heaven (Led Zep) (I didn't say it wouldn't make my list)
5) Sweet Home Alabama (Lynard Sknard)
4) Hotel California (Eagles)
3) Born To Run (Bruce Springsteen)
2) Gimme Shelter (Rolling Stones)
1) Baba O'Reilly (The Who)

A Big Day Coming

So Tuesday is the big day. The day the California Supreme Court will announce it's decision about prop. 8. I hope they overturn it but I doubt they will and that's what scares me. Prop. 8 was a measure financed by church groups based solely on their beliefs and nothing else. They bullied people with ads saying what a horrible precedence gay marriage will bring even though the scarier precedence is if it is allowed to stand. Really who would be stopping the church if they say now that black people can't marry white people? Or fat people can't marry skinny people? Nothing. That's the scary part is how powerful the church is when really they shouldn't have any say in this what so ever. Whatever happened the life liberty and the pursuit of happiness? The church obviously doesn't want that!

Oh My GOD

So I saw where Rush is actually begging MSNBC to stop mentioning him on the air. He is just like the bully who can attack people but can't take it. I hope MSNBC and anyone who wishes to (including me) attack him for the drug addicted pig he is. If you dish out insults and attack be prepared to receive. Free speech doesn't just apply to him it applies to anyone.

Hypocrisy At It's Best

Here we have Newt Gingrich, disgraced former house speaker continously trying to make a story for Nancy Pelosi even though there is none. But if you want the ultimate hypocrisy I will like to bring you to a quote from Newt back in December of 2007:

"[The NIE] is so professionally unworthy, so intellectually indefensible and so fundamentally misleading that it is damaging to our national security.

The NIE appears to be a deliberate attempt to undermine the policies of President Bush by members of his own government by suggesting that Iran no longer poses a serious threat to U.S. national security because we apparently have credible reports that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003."

Well I guess it's ok for old Newt to call the CIA a liar. What a hypocrite.

Unity?

So what happened? Democrats in the Senate voted AGAINST shutting down Guantanamo Bay Prison. Why? It's a slap in the face of the President and really pathetic. Bad move.

People Forget

Funny how people seem to forget where they live. We live in earthquake country in Los Angeles and every so often there are quakes to remind us exactly that. There was one on Sunday (4.7) and an aftershock yesterday (I think about a 4). Naturally the media is freaking out trying to create panic saying that the big one is coming. It might be I've been hearing about it since I was a kid but really what in essence can be done? All you can do is be as prepared as possible and hope you don't ever have to use the tools you know.

Children

Ahh yes the children on the right. Yes that's what they are children. The response they give the Nancy Pelosi and what she knew about torture story: She's ugly. Here are some examples

http://mediamatters.org/research/200905180006

That's what happens when you know you are wrong about something but instead of making it go away you just want something to attack the other person. How pathetic and what desperation the right has now.

Bless The Internet

So if you look at Robert a few posts down as usual instead of talking about my point he goes on the attack since he knows I'm right. But he said I'm a racist since I attacked Sec. Rice. Now I did a search seeing if he is right. The last two comments I made about her is she is a "Bush suckup" which she was but I also commented that McCain should have picked her as his V.P. nominee because even though I disagree with her policies she would have made a better candidate then Palin. So as always Robert if you want to attack me you better actually have facts. But again I expect no less since you are a typcial Republican hypocrite and that says so much about you.

Time For a Change

I'm just wondering when President Obama is going to remove the god awful Bill Clinton military policy of don't ask don't tell? It's time to be done and yesterday. President Obama has to do the right thing.

A Bad Idea

http://rawstory.com/08/news/2009/05/11/tennessee-bill-would-allow-guns-in-bars/

So they want to pass a law in Tennessee where guns will be allowed in bars. That is such a bad idea. You get idiots and alcohol and guns together in the same place and it will literally be the wild west. It doesn't work.

Even More Phony Outrage

So Saturday at the White House Press Corespondents dinner Comedian Wanda Sykes did a few jokes about drug addict Rush Limbaugh. Now the drug addict has gone way over the line in attacks on people like Michael J. Fox who has Parkinson's disease and so many others it's sick BUT you can't seem to comment about him EVER without having all hell breaking lose.

Huh?

So Darth Vader was interviewed on CBS yesterday and said one of the most disgusting thing I've seen ever. And again if you wonder why I call Republicans racist this is part of the reason. He was asked by the commentator about Gen. Colin Powell and said "I didn't even know he was still in the Republican Party". Now considering what Powell did for the Bush Administration going to the United Nations about Iraq and helping enable the nightmare there and how in a large part he is responsible for soldiers dying in the illegal war that is such disrespect. Disgusting.

How to talk to children

There is a letter in today's Los Angeles Times where the writter asks what to tell his child about Manny Ramirez being suspended. I actually think the answer is simple. Tell the truth. In other words say the following (of course word it to the maturity level of the child)

Manny Ramirez was suspended for taking something that isn't allowed in baseball. He will not be playing for a couple of months. He has not in the past been suspected of taking steroids and there is no indication that this is steriods but he cheated and he will not be playing. Once he is back it's up to you whether you cheer for him again or not.

Poor Baby

I see where Michael Savage is upset where he is banned from going to England because of the hate he spews when he hosts his radio show. I just have to say poor baby. I have no sympathy for these lunatics. I know when I speak there is a responsibility for my words. If there are consequences because of them there are.

Day of What??

Today is supposed to be a day of prayer. Which is a government issue that clearly violates separation of church and state. This was started under Clinton, intensified under Bush and looks like privatized under President Obama who is clearly making this a private affair even though this is clearly a violation of the rule. Just like I should not have my religion forced upon anyone who doesn't want it I should NOT have a religion (christianity) forced upon me especially since I feel they are responsible for many of the violence of the world.

World War III

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/20634.html

So Republican Sen. John Cornyn is threatening "World War III" if Democrats try seat elected Senator Al Franken. I've posted this before and I will yet again and will continue to do so til it gets through Republicans thick heads:

For years I, as a Democrat, was told to "get over" Florida and the nightmare that was George Bush. That he won the election. Why won't Republicans tell Norm Coleman to do the same? Unlike Florida all votes were counted in MInnesotaand unlike Florida we have a legitimate winner in Minnesota. So my question to the party of cowards is why don't you "get over it"? Why can't you accept that Franken won the election and allow Minnesota to be represented by the person they elected? Why can't you "get over it"?

Good Luck

So President Obama wants to close the loopholes that allow businesses to protect profits overseas in places like the Cayman Islands and not pay taxes on them. I say that's a great idea, but I doubt it will happen with the business influence on both parties. But it's something long overdue.

A New Party

So for those who want a third party I think I have a theory. I think sooner rather then later people like Specter, Bayh, Collins, Nelson, Snowe (in other words moderate Republicans and conservitive Democrats) will form their own party cause really there is no room in either party for them. That's my theory anyway,

Friday, May 01, 2009

Oh boy

Leave it to the Republicans to turn something that isn't much of a story and turn it into a political issue. Some Republicans are actually blaming the non story of the swine flu on illegal immigrants despite the facts showing otherwise. For instance the cases in New York were from people visiting Mexico on Spring Break. But that doesn't stop the lies.
