Unbelievable

I have never seen a group of people show such disrespect as Republicans show this President. They are disgusting, vile and showing how they cannot stand the fact there is a black person as President. I'm sorry to Robert but that is a fact. The latest disgust is how President Obama is having a speech encouraging kids to stay in school, study hard and get good grades. The right again showing their true colors (because Reagan and Bushs did the same thing) they are claiming how Obama is trying to "brainwash " and "indoctrinate" their kids. Again noting but disrespect. Even if you don't agree with his policies (which with the exception of unemployment things like the stimulus are working) that is over the line and uncalled for. These "people" need to go badly. Think about it most are encouraging parents to keep their kids at home so they don't see him speak. Again disprespect.

This is really pathetic. Obama is spewing oppressive policy after oppressive policy at us. You say those of who complain or challenge them are racists? You think that’s a fact? You are the one who is unbelievable with your very narrow view of things. The protests, the town hall meetings, and the tea parties have NOTHING, repeat, NOTHING to do with race and everything to do with fighting for our rights that his policies are trying to take away.

What about Bush? You “disagreed with his policies”. Yet, you and others put out such an amount of filthy and vile rhetoric against him that the backlash against Obama is practically nothing in comparison. What if I had said “Democrats cannot stand the fact that Bush is from Texas and that’s why they hate him so.”? I know exactly how you would have argued that point.

It is Obama, himself that stated that he considers the Constitution as an obstacle to get around. That’s right! He sees the monument to Democracy that every American should hold dear to their hearts as some sort of barrier. This man should not be President. The first lines of his oath of office were to protect and defend the Constitution. Since he obviously was and is unable to perform this duty, he should have said “I thank you for voting for me but since I don’t believe in the laws and freedoms of the land, I cannot be President.”

These protests first are not by normal people but people who are paid by the insurance companies. AND if you actually look at the protesters they are skinheads, nazi's. And no one on the left advocating killing, overthrowing Bush in a coup as the right is saying over Obama. ANd if you want Presidents who saw the constitution as an obsticle you need to look at your precious President Bush who shreded the constitution. Get your facts right before baseless attacks.

But as always Robert since you know I'm right you are not even sticking with my point and that is Obama's speech on education. So as always you can never make an argument on my point cause I guess as always you know I'm right.

And Robert I call it racism because contrary to the fact that you can't accept it that is what this is. You are the only person I know who doesn't see the attacks on Obama being anything but. This is all about a black person in the White House and a lot of people just cannot accept it. I'm sorry you don't see it but that is what it is.

”These protests first are not by normal people but people who are paid by the insurance companies.”

Is that so? What a convenient answer that is. Yet, polls indicate that most Americans reject Obamacare and most Americans don’t even believe that their Congress representative has read the bill. Over 80% of Americans are satisfied with their health plan - something Obama is trying to blow up despite all his rhetoric to the contrary. This is angering a lot of people. You are very wrong here.

”AND if you actually look at the protesters they are skinheads, nazi's.”

No, they aren’t. Understand that one left-wing group was actually caught at a meeting appearing with swastikas to give the impression that one has to be a nazi to attend these events.

”And no one on the left advocating killing, overthrowing Bush in a coup as the right is saying over Obama.”

I’ve never heard anyone on the right advocating this and yes, I’ve heard what Limbaugh said. You (as usual) misinterpreted him. He is not for charging the White House and kicking Obama out. I heard plenty of calls for the death of Bush at the anti-war rallies. (By the way, why aren’t these anti-war rallies still going on? We’re still at war, aren’t we?)

”ANd if you want Presidents who saw the constitution as an obsticle you need to look at your precious President Bush who shreded the constitution. Get your facts right before baseless attacks.”

Once again, I never was a Bush supporter. Bush did brush against the Constitution at times (keep in mind though, that the wire-tapping you and the left complained so much about was started by Clinton. It was okay when Clinton did it, but not Bush.)

Universal Health Care is grossly against the Constitution. The government has no right to be part of any decisions that doctors should be making. Personally, I believe in a major reform of our health care system that will further get the government out of the equation.

Obama is appointing Czars (“Czars” where does that term come from?) who are actively trying to shut down radio stations that broadcast right-wing talk radio.

Obama has NBC in his pockets. NBC is owned by General Electric and is a huge supporter of Obama.

How condescending! You have no right to make this assumption. By the way, I know you are wrong.

”…you are not even sticking with my point and that is Obama's speech on education.”

You are somewhat right here. At the time I read and responded to your post, I was unaware of the speech Obama was making today. Now that I am aware of it and have read the speech, I’ll say that it was a good speech and I take no issue with it.

However, despite the fact that I wasn’t addressing that particular speech, my comments still hold true.

This is just a typical narrow-minded statement from you. Most of the problems with race in America today is the thinking you are showing. Whenever a person of color is involved in something whether it’s Obama being President, Tiger Woods playing golf, Angela Bassett in a movie, or OJ Simpson killing his ex-wife and her boyfriend, the focus turns to the person’s race instead of the deed. Your argument illustrates this so well. It is YOU who are consumed with the fact that Barack Obama is black (half-black anyway). I focus on who he is and what he is doing. YOU”RE the one who keeps bringing up race. It is YOU who are unable to accept the strong issues we take against Obama have nothing to do with the color of his skin, but the content of his character

Not much to think about. I never heard of Pastor Steven Andersen before. People all over want certain people dead. Nothing new or special here. John Hinckley Jr. obviously wanted Ronald Reagan dead. Should I call the entire left wing a hate group because of him?

Okay, I can’t deny that there are idiots in this world.

FACT: About 20% of the population of the United States, when tested with valid psychological instruments, can be accurately classified as "highly suggestible" people prone to believe nonsense.

FACT: The Republican Party is currently supported by 23% of the people of the United States.

QUESTION: Who are the other 3%?

Since Robert feels that the oath to support and defend the Constitution is sacred, I'm sure he supports prosecuting both President Bushes, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzalez, and several other Republicans for doing just that. MoveOn.Org can expect his imminent contribution.

Of course, the first President Bush used his infamous "Christmas Day Pardons" to prevent prosecution of Reagan and Bush-era cabinet officials who clearly violated the Constitution - if they hadn't violated it, he wouldn't have needed to pardon them for acts they hadn't even been formally charged with. And Colonel Oliver North, who proudly admits he violated the Constitution, can not be prosecuted again because of double jeopardy. But there are still enough left to have a satisfactory raking-over-the-coals with, and I'm delighted that Robert supports this.

Hi Tom,

This wasn't meant to be a Constitutional discussion and I want to stay on topic as Erik wants. Let me just say that both sides of the fence infringe on the Constitution, but in different ways.

My argument was aimed at Erik's claim that the only reason Republicans challenge Obama is because of the color of his skin. I was giving examples of how there are many reasons Republicans and conservatives oppose Obama and his policies. Do some oppose his skin color? Of course, but the vast majority have much more substantive reasons.
