Did You Know

With all the lies that the right is giving about using reconcilliation to pass healthcare I bet you didn't know that the Republicans USED reconcilliation to pass the Bush tax cuts that helped plunge our country into the recession we are currently in? I bet you didn't cause the right-wing media isn't telling you that.

Freedoms

Why are Republicans always seem to be willing to give up our freedoms? When the patriot act (or as I always call it the invasion of privacy act) was passed that's exactly what happens. And as always when Republicans pass something they screw it up. Yet when it comes to things that might help people like heathcare reform, jobs the Republicans are always against it. They never want to help anyone but big business. They are willing to sacrafice our freedoms for big business and that's what needs to be stopped. Remember the saying those who are willing to sacrafice freedom for security deserve nether.

I would like to give kudos to Jim Demint (R). That's right but one thing I consistantly say is if I hear something I like from a Republican as much as they deserve to be bashed they also deserve credit. So Demint is pushing an amendment that he feels will ease corruption in Washington by having Senators and Congresspeople have term limits. I really don't have a problem with that but really here is a better way to end corruption on all levels of Government:

Public Elections

The reason why there is so much corruption are big businesses are allowed to donate large amounts of money to these polititions (hence why there are huge issues with the healthcare bill among others) and once that stops corruption stops.

Idiot of the week

I decided after last week to make this award weekly. Why not. The criteria for this award is any memeber of Congress, Senate, The President, media, whoever who is just dumb, ignorant or both depending on the issue. At the end of the year I will give the idiot of the year award. This week is a tie for the simple reason: They are both elected to Congress and either didn't know the pledge or the difference between the constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

The winners are: John Boener of Ohio for not knowing Friday at the last attempt by Republicans to imtimidate Democrats against the House version of healthcare he said he was reading the Constitution when he actually read the Declaration of Indenpendence

The co winner is Rep Tom Akin of Missouri for claiming a) the pledge of allegence "drives liberals crazy (which is false) and for b) forgetting a word. Who really knows what he had in mind but it's stupid and so is he.

Should Never EVER Happen

How bad are things regarding healthcare? I found an article where a 39 year old man has to enlist in the army to get heathcare for his wife who has cancer. He was out of work and couldn't afford the payments for insurance. If this is the best healthcare in the world as Republicans claim why should this EVER happen?
