A question answered and defening silence

Well we have an answer on who terrorists are cheering for in Iraq and that's George W. Bush and NOT the Democrats despite what George W. Bush and the right-wing media claim. If anyone saw the last tape they said they want more troop there to kill them all. So much for who's tough on terror.

And on a second note on the right-wing media has anyone besides me noticed the deafening silence from the right-wing media on Sec. Rice's trip to Syria?? I sure have. Shouldn't there be equal outrage as there was for ONLY DEMOCRAT SPEAKER PELOSI? I think there should be because if Pelosi is speaking with the enemy which is what the media said the Rice is doing the SAME EXACT THING!

American Government 101

The government is divided in 3 branches - Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.

Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, is a member of the Legislative branch.

Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State, is a member of the Executive branch.

As Secretary of State, Rice has every right to travel abroad and speak with foreign leaders. In fact, it's her job! Kennedy visited Kruschev in the sixties, Kissinger and Nixon went to China in the seventies. Pelosi, however, had no business speaking with Syrian leaders, whatsoever unless she was negotiating some sort of trade deal concerning her wineries, which I seriously doubt. No, Pelosi was grandstanding.

Not only was she grandstanding, she visited Syria wearing a shawl. What sort of message does that send? Is she really supposed to be a role model for young women by basically saying "it's okay to be submissive in front of men when they are Muslims"? I notice Rice was dressed in her normal and proper business attire.

Again as usual my point was missed Robert. NO REPUBLICANS WHO WERE ON THE SAME TRIP AS PELOSI WERE GIVEN ANY GRIEF AS PELOSI! My point is it's only the Democrat who was. That's hypocrisy.

And trust me when I say I'll take Pelosi negotiating over ANYONE from Bush's my way or else anyday.

And my point again when Pelosi does it she is "aiding the enemy" but Rice does it nothing.

No, your post (and supposedly your point) doesn't mention Republicans, it mentions Secretary of State Rice and why she didn't get equal scorn as Pelosi. Or am I reading the wrong post?

"And trust me when I say I'll take Pelosi negotiating over ANYONE from Bush's my way or else anyday."

That's obviously your opinion, Erik, but it doesn't take away the fact that speaking with foreign leaders on behalf of the United States is not Pelosi's job. Maybe I would like Tommy Lasorda to chat with the head of Syria. That doesn't mean that he should.

Essentially, you're saying that the media should berate Rice for doing her job.

"And my point again when Pelosi does it she is 'aiding the enemy' but Rice does it nothing."

In wearing a semi-burka, Pelosi communicated to Syria and the terrorist communities that; "We will submit." "We are afraid of you." That's called giving comfort to the enemy. Who knows what else this pretender had said?

Erik, take a breath and seriously think about how you would feel if the political parties in this matter were reversed. Would you really be okay with a Republican representative undermining the policies of a Democrat administration?
