I bring you this article to remind you what happened when the Dixie Chicks attacked Bush (rightfully) and the backlash they received from the Country Music industry. The attacks led by among others Toby Keith.
The reason I bring this up is it seems Toby Keith was upset at the Country Music Awards when he didn't win because he feels he supported Obama. Irony sucks doesn't it.

Too bad you don't know what you're talking about. Toby didn't lead the attacks on the Dixie Chicks regarding the comment about President Bush. The Dixie Chicks attacked Toby about his song "Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue" and Toby responded. Toby didn't attend the CMA Award show because they always snub him. They snub him because he doesn't follow the industry standards and he does his own thing. Toby said Obama was the best democratic candidate in a long time, he did not say he would vote for him.
No irony here.

Thanks, Peg. Toby's political statements had nothing to do with the lack of CMA nominations. The industry big wigs snub him because he doesn't kiss up to them and has chosen to open his own label.
Peg, you are also right about the way his statement about Obama was twisted to sound like he was supporting Obama. He said Obama was the best Democratic candidate, not that he supported him.
I wish people would get their story straight before they post.
Peg, you hit the nail on the head. The fact that Toby hasn't attended the CMAs since 2004, and then has been totally blackballed due to him opening his own label. Also, look at Tim, he is independant, too and he got snubbed also, and has made his comments concerning the CMAs. People really should get their facts straight.
And again, you're right, he said Obama was best choice for Deomcrats, since Clinton, but that didn't mean he was voting for himi. Dixie chicks started it, the fans finsished it. Toby was man enouh to back off and leave it alone, and they couldn't keep their mouths shut. Like you said, no irony here.
