Observations on Petraeus

First thanks to John Warner (R,Va.) for asking the right question to Petraeus yesterday. The question was "are we any safer since we are in Iraq?" and the answer was "I don't know." So I ask WHY THE HELL ARE WE IN IRAQ IF WaxtxE ARE NO SAFER THEN WE WERE BEFORE?

Also the troop "withdraw" is nothing of the sort. All they are doing is leaving the troop level the same as it was BEFORE THE SURGE! Don't believe the lies by Bush.

And understand I didn't post anything yesterday as I always say prayers and remember my friends who died on 9/11. I knew a couple including a firefighter when I lived in New York in 1998 and still kept in touch with when I moved back home and watched them die as the towers fell. And if 9/11 gets me particularly angry toward Bush and will continue until Bush gives a damn about capturing as his quote was "dead or alive" Bin Laden.

Erik, we are in Iraq because it was a dangerous dictatorship ruled by a murderous thug who invaded two other countries and harbored international terrorists. Why do you always want jump around and skip subject? Yesterday I gave you a lengthy and detailed answer on how long we should be in Iraq and Middle East policy in general. I always answer all the questions you ask often in great detail, but you NEVER answer any of the relatively simple questions I ask you. You would be great working for the drive-by news media as Rush Limbaugh likes to call them. You're like your friends at Daily Kooks and Moveon.Org-- remember that truly outrageous thing they called Gen. Petraeus--Betrayus. I know you do not like President Bush because he is a plain spoken conservative Republican from Texas and you eagerly suck up any vicious gossip or conspiracy theory about him. Rather than debate policy intelligently, you and your radical left wing nut friends just like to rant a rave childishly. In the last post I aked you some policy and political questions about what types of policies you support and what presidential candidate(s) come closest to representing your views. Are you ever going to keep on subject and respond to some of my questions? I always respond to your cheap pot shots and childish attacks on President Bush.

No we are in Iraq cause Bush said Iraq had ties to 9/11. Which most sane people no that's a lie. How many more troops have to die because of this? If Bush is well spoken (mind you he couldn't say Australia and kept calling it Austria) then you need to brush up on your English or Bush needs to brush up on his geography. I told you why I'm especially angry at Bush in that post and if you bothered to read it you would understand unless all the people killed in the World Trade Center doesn't bother you.

And if you take Rush Limbaugh for gospel you are looking at the wrong place.

One more thing weren't we supposed to be in Iraq for quoting Dick Cheney "only 6 months" and we are now in our 4th year?

Erik, we are in Iraq because the country is a state sponsor of international terrorism. The United States has the right to attack ANY country including Syria, Iran, and Pakistan which harbor international terrorists and seek weapons of mass destruction. Even though no nuclear weapons were found in Iraq over 500 missiles containing chemical warheads were found in violation of UN Resolutions. It is also well known that Saddam Hussein was actively seeking nuclear weapons and harboring well known international terrorists. Israel even bombed and destroyed a nuclear plant Iraq was building. In addition to all of this Iraq was menace to the region and invaded two neighboring countries, Kuwait and Iran. He also gave money to the families of suicide bombers in Israel who were targeting innocent civilians. In addition to all of this, he mercilessly murdered thousands of Kurds using chemical weapons (yes, a weapon of mass destruction). Chemical Ali is due to go the gallows any day now. Is the enough reason for liberating Iraq or should I go on?
