One More thing

Can someone who is against the death penalty give any GOOD reason why people like this freak should live?

I don't have time right now, but I'll give you my response in the next day or so.

Just to give a heads up there are two reasons I don't/won't accept:

The bible

And what does it solve

Okay, here it goes. First of all, I don't pretend to represent any group. These are my own opinions and don't necessarily follow anybody else's.

I am against the death penalty. It's a simple philosophy, really. I firmly do not believe that any one person, group, or government has the right to directly determine if one should live or die.

I realize not everybody shares that opinion, but it is ingrained in my personna. I do not believe in the "eye for an eye" philosophy. I know you may argue that policemen kill bad guys on the streets all the time and soldiers kill other soldiers all the time, so why is that okay? The answer is that a policemen kills a criminal to protect his/her self or others. The same is true in warfare.

Killing by means of execution is not self defense. In fact, it is letting the criminal off easy. I truly wish Timothy McVeigh was still alive and in a 10X10 cell with nothing to do but contemplate what he did until the end of his natural life. You see, I don't believe in coddling prisoners - letting them watch TV, use the Internet, or have conjugal visits. They should be forced to live in a veritable hell.

This may seem strange but as far as Stanley "Tookie" Williams is concerned, he should be executed. I say this because even though I am against the principle of the issue, I respect the law and the man was convicted and sentenced in accordance of the law. Tookie Williams should not be an exception to the law.

I'm amazed on at least this one we agree. I am pro death penalty. I would even say it should apply to those who are convicted of rape but that's me. I just feel justice is done that way.

HEre is one thing. You have stated you disagree with the death penalty but there is still not a reason other then you disagree with it.

I don't know what your looking for. Don't you have any philosophies in your life? I stated one of mine. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that. You can give me all the opinions you like but you are not going to convince me to change a fundamental principle of mine.

Here is my question for you Robert and you Eric: If someone like Tookie commits murder, especially multiple murderers, to people who just happen to be at that place and that time, why shouldn't the person, who is tried, convicted, and sentenced, have the same fate thrust upon them? What I am I guess looking for is a reason to have my mind changed

As I stated in my reference to Timothy McVeigh, life in prison should be a fate worse than death.

I am not trying to change your mind because I'm pretty sure I won't.

But to counter your argument about McVeigh he didn't seem to mind taking all the lives he took in Oklahoma City. I'm looking to be convinced my stance is wrong here.

I think really what I'm looking for is a reason that can't be countered
