Bravo to the senate for killing the famed bridge to nowhere in Alaska. That's money that will be better spent elsewhere.

It turns out it's not really a victory. Instead of building the bridge, the federal government will hand over the money that would have been used on the bridge to the state government of Alaska. The over 400 million dollars is to be used for transportation improvements such as roads and, you guessed it, bridges.
