War on Christmas

More about the religious right. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/11/20/MNGVDFRH081.DTL

So now Jerry Falwell is threatening to sue companies who recognize all hollidays instead of just Christmas. I've said this before I'm Jewish, I celebrate Chanukah and not Christmas. I know Christmas I know that Chistmas is the most holliest day of the year for the Christian faith but understand people like him and O'Reilly (who has said there is a war against Christmas) there is no war. The companies are just simply recognizing that there are other hollidays besides Christmas and there is nothing wrong with that. These people are out of control.

I mostly agree with you but I must admit I get more and more irked each year when I hear terms like "holiday tree". How would you like it if the minora was called "holiday candles"? I realize this is a marketing thing but as people complain that they are losing their culture, Christians are losing the name "Christmas".

I agree with that they are dumming down christmas but like I said it's not demeaning the stores are recognizing that christmas is not the only holliday this time of year

I don't think homogenizing the holidays is due to department stores respecting other religions/cultures. They are doing it because they are afraid. They are afraid of getting boycotting or sued for preferring one religion/culture over another in their eyes. Since I am a member of the wealthy, spoiled christians who exploit the rest of the world, we no longer are allowed to complain, much less boycott or sue.

Actually I wish that would happen

That's stupid. Unbelieveable

You see I should add I enjoy the songs the caroling (I was even in my work chior while I was there) so to ban Xmas music is incredibly dumb and ruins the holiday spirit.
