Over the next day or so I'm going to go over the lie of the union by Bush (thank god his last) and doing some fact-checking. I got the first one right here. First his quote:
“The people’s trust in their Government is undermined by congressional earmarks — special interest projects that are often snuck in at the last minute, without discussion or debate.”
Now that may sound accurate and right but if you take a look here are some facts Bush left out:

Among earmarks that GEORGE BUSH put in the budget are money for projects for HIS WIFE and FATHER.
And if you take a look there were more earmarks when Republicans were in charge then when Democrats.

The first defense appropriations bill Bush signed had 994 earmarks, then in 2002 1409 earmarks in 2004 there were 2208 in 2005 there were2506 earmarks.

But as usual Bush doesn't lay the blame where it should be.
