More Trouble in the Bathroom

On the heals of Bob Allen's arrest in Florida for offering $20 bucks to a male undercover cop for sex and then claiming "This was a pretty stocky black guy, and there was nothing but other black guys around in the park," as his excuse we have another GOP who can't keep it together in the bathroom as Larry Craig was arrested on June 11th (why are we now being informed of this?) for lewd acts in the bathroom in Minnesota.

Craig did pay a $500 fine and a jail sentence was stayed .

Just a few votes from Craig just to show he's another Right-Wing hypocrite like all the others

Voted YES on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. (Jun 2006)
* Voted NO on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)
* Voted NO on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. (Jun 2000)
* Voted YES on prohibiting same-sex marriage. (Sep 1996)
* Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

If what Sen. Craig did in the public restroom is true, that is disgusting and shocking behavoir unbecoming of a public official. He should be censured for such behavoir and certainly not seek re-election. What about Congressman Barney Frank, whose boyfriend ran a male prostitution ring out of his apartment? He's still in the Congress! Or congressman Gerry Studds who had sex with underage male pages? These guys got away with it and kept getting re-elected in their districts as if they were being rewarded for their shocking and disgusting behavoir. We have bad apples in our party just as you have them in your party, Erik. You do NOT have a monopoly on virtue and no party has a monopoly on scandal. Remember that Democrat Governor of New Jersey, Jim McGreevey, who was having sex with male hustlers at truck stops while serving as governor? I could go on and on but you get the point by now. Let's tone down the rhetoric and focus on issues that matter.

Erik, this week could we discuss policy issues which really matter like Iraq, the war on terror, national security, global warming, energy, taxes--whatever you like? I'm sick of sex scandals. By the way Mayor Don Juan Villaraigosa's affair with the television reporter is still relatively fresh and on going. Do you want to discuss this one as well? Of course not! You only want to talk about REPUBLICAN scandals. Hardly fair and balanced. There is a difference between the way Republicans and Democrats handle scandals. Larry Craig is gone. Mark Foley gone. Duke Cunningham gone. Jack Abramoff gone. Your guys, on the other hand, still hang in there and NEVER go. Ted Kennedy is still there. Patrick Kennedy is still there. William Jefferson is still there. John Murtha is still there. Mayor Don Juan is still there.Barney Frank is still there. See the difference? Our guys resign in disgrace, never to be heard from again. Your guys hang in there and continue to get re-elected by their constituencies. I would, however, like to get off scandals and on to policy. Every organization has a few bad apples that make everyone look bad. Organization like the Republican Party and the Catholic Church are no exception. I am a Republican not because of personalities within the party, but because I believe that lower taxes are better than higher taxes, that smaller government is better than bigger government, that capitalism is superior to socialism, that a stronger defense is better than a weaker defense. Can we discuss THESE issues and move away from the sleazy scandals that both parties are EQUALLY guilty of, Erik?
