So the Republican House passed a ban prohibiting online betting (except for horses of course) their reasoning is it's addictive.
We all make choices in life. I enjoy gambling I feel I'm responsible when I gamble. I don't take anymore then I can afford when I go to Vegas or the track or whatever and that's that. I know people get hooked but it's their decision to start. It's also their decision to stop.
However this is just another way how the Republicans want to intrude on your private life. They want to control all aspects of it and it's wrong on so many levels.
Luckily this probably won't pass in the Senate.

This is because children are betting. You can expect a lot more web-based legislation to get introduced in the short future. Children are getting access to pornography, gambling, and they're borrowing Mommy and Daddy's credit card and buying stuff. Sexual predators have found the Internet to be a godsend. Now they have all sorts of access to young girls or boys.
Of course, good parents would monitor and pay attention to what their children are doing online. However, as Hillary Clinton says, parents are no longer responsible for what their children do since "It Takes a Village". So, I guess that's why the days of the free Internet are probably coming to an end.
If children are gambling Robert shouldn't their parents or is that asking too much? This is none of the house's business.
I mean shouldn't the kids parents be watching their children.
Erik, I am agreeing with you. I am telling you why this legislation exists. I am not saying I agree with it.
I feel this legislation exsists because the right-wing (this bill was sponsored by republicans) has nothing better to do then interfere in our private lives. Following the examples set by the Bush administration.
Wait we agree mark this date down :)
