Just yesterday United Airlines laid off several hundred pilots (some serving in Iraq to further insult our troops) but you don't hear about small businesses also hurting. So with the crap Michelle Obama is taking for her comments "For the first time in my adult life I love America" (paraphrasing a bit) I wonder when the media is going to pick up on the exact same comments more of the same McCain said. Another example on how trickle down economics doesn't work. The theory that Republicans claim work is you raise profits and they will trickle down to the workers. That isn't true. Yet another example is how CEO pays have increased in 2007. Meanwhile where do the people who are hurting come in?? Nowhere. Anyone who claims this voodoo economics works is just a simple idiot who doesn't know or just ignores the facts regarding this. And it doesn't matter how smart they claim they are the facts again state otherwise!

Point Counterpoint

While trying to figure out what slime the Republicans are going to try to bring up against the next President Barrack Obama whatever they try Obama can counter. Here are some examples:

Republicans will try to use Rev. Wright against Obama. Obama can counter with more of the same McCain's association with Hagee.

Republicans can try to use the bitter comments Obama said. Obama can counter with the not important when troops come home comments or we will be in Iraq for 100 years comments.

Republicans can try to claim about Obama's voting record claiming how liberal it is. Obama can counter with more of the same McCain voting with Republicans 85% of the time.

Republicans can claim how inexperienced Obama is on National Security and the phony war on terror. Obama can counter how the person behind the attacks on 9/11 is still at large and how Bush has said he doesn't think about him anymore. Obama can also remind how during a Democratic Administration (President Bill Clinton) both times there were attacks (the first World Trade Center Bombing and Oklahoma City) the people behind them were caught, convicted and are currently serving sentences or put to death!

Any attack Republicans can come up with against Obama he can counter.

Just say no

I saw a story where the idiot in the White House backed by more of the same McCain is going to ask Congress to lift the ban on offshore oil drilling so his oil buddies can continue to make record profits cause that's NOT going to do a thing to drop prices even though that is what they will claim.

I hope Congress tell Bush and more of the same McCain what they can do with that request. This is not the answer finding alternatives to oil consumption is. That's what needs to be done and when Obama beats more of the same McCain in November we will have a president who will explore those opportunities!

A Historic Day......Maybe

Today is a historic day for the state of California as same-sex couples will be allowed to marry at 5:01 PM PST. While I'm waiting for a right-wing group to find an activist judge to stop this from happening (since we know they are homophobic and can't seem to accept this) I hope all couples, gay and straight be allowed to experience the joys and pains of marriage.

By the way a little sidebar Kern County, one of the most conservative counties in California, has decided to stop issuing licenses for all marriages because they feel it's better not to marry instead of allowing same-sex couples to marry. Nice huh??

Fair Game

So I read on ABC.com where Republicans are going to attack Michelle Obama specifically her "first time proud" comments she made earlier this year. Fine but that also makes more of the same John McCain's wife fair game as well. But then again we already have so many soundbites (like yesterdays) that more of the same McCain has said that it might not be necessary.

I wonder how his son who is serving in Iraq feels that his dad doesn't care if he ever comes home? I bet not too good but I can't speak for him.

Once A Coward

As gas hits $4 a gallon nationwide (it's been like that here in California for awhile now) I'm just wondering where the man is who said "I don't know anyone who has said gas is going to hit four dollars a gallon" Bush: He of course being the coward that he is has run away to Europe instead of being here where he is needed. Just like he has done his whole life. Examples: Vietnam, arrests when he was young so many others.

Why Clinton Lost

So I keep hearing reports asking why Clinton Lost the nomination. Here is what I think(and these aren't in any order):

A) Her vote in support of our occupation in Iraq. She refused to say she was wrong on that and too many people don't want us to be there.

B) Arrogance. She was too cocky as the alleged front-runner and didn't take Obama seriously until the end. Same thing happened to the Republican alleged front-runner Gulliani.

C) Bad decisions. The 3 am add. Sending her surrogates like Geraldine Ferraro and Bill Clinton to attack Obama when she was scared to do much of the work herself.

D) Fundraising. This surprised me most of all. She was not as organized as Obama was.

E) Her sex. She kept saying how she was treated unfairly because she was a woman. Sorry to say but politics isn't fair.

I might add some more late but that's a start.

O Idiot

So today Bill O'Idiot says that Obama's policy's are bad for the U.S. I wonder though why he would think more of the same McCain's policy's will be any better?

More of the same McCain has said he wants to continue Bush's policy's of lying about war (as proven this week by multiple sources) of extremely high unemployment, of extremely high food prices, of RECORD high gas prices, of murdering our soldiers so companies associated with him can make record profits, of continuing tax cuts for people making millions while people with families are struggling to eat. Really who has bad policy's here?

There are so many reasons NOT to vote for more of the same McCain!

Now THAT was a speech. If Hillary Clinton gave more speeches like that she would be the Democratic nominee instead of Barrack Obama. I just hope she lives up to her words and supports him in any way she can.

What's unpatriotic

You know one of the things that always upsets me is how Republicans claim they know what is patriotic. They claim how not supporting the war is not patriotic they claim how not wearing a flag pin on your tie is not patriotic they have claimed you have to support the Republican President otherwise you are not patriotic (while in the meantime attacking former Presidents Clinton and Carter on a regular basis).

To me though the most un-patriotic thing you can do is not use your right to vote. Even today even though here in California there is nothing major on the ballot and even though my mom is in the hospital with a broken hip I still went to my polling place and voted. I have not missed an election no matter where I lived since I turned 18.

The way I figure not voting is the most un-patriotic thing you can do.

So former Press Secretary Scott McClellan has a new book out blasting Bush and cronies. Love to say I'm surprised but one of the passages I've heard is how he thought the "liberal" media would pick up on the lies and I have fault with that for a couple of reasons.

This story links to a case that's going before the California Supreme Court. The case involves a woman who is a lesbian who is suing her doctors who state, based on religious beliefs, they will not inseminate her.

Now what I would like is for someone to state where exactly in the bible does it state that a lesbian woman cannot have a child? From what I have seen it doesn't say that anywhere.

What this is is a pure discrimination. This has nothing to do with religion but more with PERSONAL beliefs. This is a choice the doctors made. Just like pharmacists who refuse to give morning after pills. The doctors should be sued AND have their licenses suspended for this.

Disgusting

I always find it disgusting when I watch Bush lay flowers at the tomb of the unknown soldier for two reasons:

A) When it was his time to serve his country he went AWOL.

B) He ordered a lot of those soldiers to die himself for his own personal amusement.

Who's To Blame??

So in his column today in the Los Angeles Daily News Bill O'Idiot claims how BOTH PARTIES are to blame for the current oil prices. I think we need a reminder of history O'Idiot! First shortly after Bush stole the White House Cheney had meetings with top oil executives. We never knew what was said in those meetings because Cheney successfully blocked a release of the minutes since he doesn't want (as always) the public to know.

Flashback to Bush deciding, for no reason, to invade Iraq. Oil prices were $24 a barrel at that point and we were promised how the oil in Iraq was supposed to pay for this occupation we are in and there was nothing to worry about.

Keep also in mind who was in charge of both the Congress and the Senate which was the Republican Party and they chose to ignore the problem.

So there you have who REALLY is responsible for the oil crisis we are currently in. That is the Republicans.

A Question

If more of the same McCain claims he supports are brave men and women who are serving in our occupation of Iraq I was wondering why he missed a key vote on a new GI bill of rights which was approved by the house and senate today? Where was he? Oh yeah he was at a fundraiser in California today . I hope Obama holds this over his head because we know now where more of the same McCain stands: Just like Bush in that he hates our military. His actions show it.

Sad News

With the excitement of the Kentucky and Oregon primaries I have some sad news to report. The other day as everyone knows Sen. Kennedy of Mass. was rushed to the hospital with a seizure. It turns out he has a tumor in his brain. While we hope he has a miracle and has a full recovery, it's sad to see such a great man suffer like this.

By the way back to the primary to no surprise Clinton won Kentucky and indications are Obama will win Oregon.

Who is Reckless

I've said this before and I will continue to point this out. More of the same McCain (who I swear recently said he wasn't going to do personal attacks on soon to be President Obama) said how Obama was "reckless" in wanting to talk with Iran FIRST.

I will say this with more of the same McCain: You have seen where a shoot first ask questions later freak has gotten us which is in an occupation of Iraq(which you have said and I will always point out we will be there 100 years) and has lead us in debt cause the idiot in the White House had no plan at all. Now if we can take a look at recent history and I will take a look at Republican Presidents only who have talked first:

Current President: Talked with and reached agreement with Lybia to reach agreement for them ending their nuclear program for exchange of food.

Ronald Reagan: Even though him being credited for ending communism is extremely overplayed he DID talk with several times Russia during the Cold War.

Richard Nixon: China. Enough said.

You can read history and see how you talk first. But now we have the Republicans who are the ones who are reckless and don't care how many lives that they have ruined and will continue to ruin with their reckless shoot first policies!

Cabinet Suggestions

I figure while I talked previously about who each candidate might pick for Vice President I want to throw some ideas for some key cabinet members. Starting with Obama. I'll get to more of the same McCain eventually.

Attorney General: John Edwards. Think about it he has experience going against corporations who willingly break the law (something that has been allowed with the current administration). He in my opinion would be a perfect fit for this.

Sec. of State: Hillary Clinton. If she doesn't get Vice President I think this would a good role for her as she is tough which, unlike Sec. Rice, you need to be in this position.

Sec. of Defense: Gen. Wesley Clark. I've heard Chuck Hagel's name mentioned in this job but again if you want someone who will bring respect contrary to Rummy and Gates he will do it.

I'll have some more ideas regarding other positions soon.

Thoughts and prayers

Please put Sen. Ted Kennedy in your thoughts and prayers as he has been rushed to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms. And while I'm sure there are those on the right who are hoping he, well dies (they have a history of doing that like when the congressman who died who was a holocaust survivor which I do have the quote on the site) he is a great man with a great history and sane people hope he will survive.

Who has done more

So Bush said today how Democrats and specifically Obama are "appeasers". Let's take a look at that shall we? We've had 8 years of a joke of a so-called President who has the shoot them first shoot them last and then sort out the bodies and all that has done is leave us billions in debt and no end to our occupation in Iraq.

Obama will attack those who threaten our well-being BUT there is nothing wrong FIRST with trying to bring a peaceful resolution to problems. Nothing wrong at all.

And one more thing to the people in Israel. Don't fall for Bush's threats. No one has done more to help enemies of Israel then the Bush family. Good Job

I'd like to give congrats to the California Supreme Court for ruling that the ban on gay marriage is unconstitutional. It took a lot of bravery to rule that and not give into the right-wing agenda.

We know what we are going to hear from the Republicans on this. How it's not natural, how it will lead to man-animal marriages things like that but what I find funny is how the Republicans always seem to be against government interference they always seem to make the exception for gay marriage which I don't understand but who am I to understand Republicans I have more then a 2nd grade education unlike them.

So John Edwards endorsed Obama just now. I find the timing interesting while it takes away the thunder of Clinton trouncing Obama yesterday, where was this earlier. Edwards is the biggest endorsement Obama has had to date. Keep up the momentum.

To no shock Sen. Clinton won West Virginia. She will also win Kentucky and Puerto Rico. Obama should win the rest. Mine as well play this out even though she has no chance.

A reason

I watched false news this morning and the hosts were wondering why all the severe weather. Specifically tornadoes. It's very simple and it's really two reasons:

A) (And I know Robert doesn't want to hear facts) Global Warming. Weather patters have gotten weird and that's the reason. As I have stated I don't know what has caused global warming but I've always said if man can fix it we should.

B) Expansion. As people build into the suburbs that's most of the places where tornadoes hit. It's a simple formula.

Another Reminder

First I want to say congrats to Jenna Bush (that's right) on her marriage today. But I want to remind you that she, like her father, like the Vice President is a coward. When it is time to serve her country and make a statement she, again like her father and Vice President, chose not to. I guess being a coward runs in the family!

A reminder

I posted about this a long time ago but I feel this needs to be brought up again. I see where coyotes have been blamed on attacks of three children while they were in parks in or near the mountains. I think we need to be reminded when people are in the mountains they are in the territory of coyotes, mountain lions, bears, snakes and other creatures. They are not in our territory we are in there. And as man continues to build in these areas man is taking away these animals food sources so animals try to find food in whatever way they can. It's sad that it's happening but people need to be careful when they are in animals territory.

Who's Fault??

So I heard a caller to a talk show yesterday say to name three things Bush is responsible for that has hurt our country. I wish I was on hold for that cause I could have gone on for 1 hour saying what he has done to hurt us domestically and internationally. Here is a few things that Bush is responsible for and Robert I know you are in the nothing is Bush's fault but you are wrong.

1) Afghanistan. Let's see we have the person responsible for the 9/11 attacks there. Someone who Bush himself has said he doesn't think about anymore who is somewhere there. And he doesn't care. Talk about a slap in the face for those who have died on 9/11. And the fact that Al Queda and the Taliban have appeared to have strengthened there means HE did nothing.

2) Iraq. No exit strategy. Over 4000 troops dead. Millions of dollars in debt. No end in site. Just wants to dump it on Obama when he wins in November.

3) Oil. Remember the meetings the Dick Cheney had with executives from the oil industry?? I do. Remember how he fought to keep the details of the meetings secret? I do. Where are we now?? Close to $4 per gallon of gas. Before Bush invaded and now occupies Iraq gas was about $30 per barrel. Remember that

4) The recession we are currently in. Bush denies it but every sane person knows we are in one. The result of the war in Iraq, gas prices, job loses, record deficit and no end in site.

5) Lack of response after Katrina. Where was Bush when Katrina was devastating New Orleans? At a photo op with John McCain. I suppose there is irony there as New Orleans was slowly being destroyed by flooding by levees that Bush removed funding to shore up so he can have his Iraq War.

6) September 11, 2001. That's right he knew an attack was coming when he was briefed in August that Bin Laden determined to strike in the United States. He choose to ignore it and look what happened.

7) The shredding of the constitution. Our right with spying on Americans being taken away. The fact he thinks he is above the law. Signing statements stating how laws passed don't apply to him or anyone associated with him, Valerie Plame and giving a pardon to Scooter and so many others it's sad and I hope when Obama gets the nod in November he restores our credibility!

8) Every child left behind. When I heard about that bill I liked that idea. Little did I know how he would not fund it and basically ignore it. What a joke. But then again so is he

Another Reason

Another reason NOT to vote for more of the same McCain is his quote saying that he would nominate more judges like Alieto (not a typo) and Roberts. Funny if he was an alleged "maverick" like the media claims he would nominate more fair judges not right-wing thinkers. But I guess the right-wing media doesn't think that as more of the same McCain gets YET ANOTHER free ride.

5 Years Ago

I didn't have a chance to write about this the other day but I couldn't let it go. 5 Years ago at taxpayer expense our idiot in chief landed on an aircraft carrier with a HUGE banner that someone at the White House had made saying "Mission Accomplished" and the idiot stated "major combat operations in Iraq is over"!

Here we are 5 years later still stuck, at taxpayer expense, in this nightmare with soldiers continuously dying even though the "mission accomplished". If there isn't a reason to NEVER vote Republican this is the reason. The obvious deception to the American people the obvious deception to get us into Iraq the obvious deception of the cost should be enough! And again if you are considering voting for more of the same McCain you will get the same thing!

Who's fault??

I saw today where Bush actually blamed Congress (Democrats) for the horrible economy. Funny how it was HIS policies that got us into the mess we are currently in and he is proposing NOTHING to help common people who are hurting the most. Let's here any idea that doesn't benefit his buddies in industry. He doesn't have any cause he doesn't want nor care about the people who need it most!

Again if I hear one more Republican who says who voodoo economics works despite this another obvious example that it doesn't I want whatever they are smoking!

Wrong views

I looked at the headline in Bill O'Idiot's column in today's Los Angeles Daily News and I thought my gody I must be dreaming I will agree with him. The headline read "Let's stop rewarding big oil companies"

But then as you read the op-ed it is his usual wrong view. His solution will not hurt big oil companies but reward them further. His solution: More drilling for oil. That is how we got to this point in our energy crisis. The solution is funding more money in finding alternatives to oil. That's the only way we will end our dependency. Hopefully when Obama or Clinton get into office next year they will find that (mind you I'm not saying they will that I hope they will) but we also know that more of the same McCain won't!

3 Years Ago

Wow it's weird. I just realized it's been three years since I started this blog. Time flies. I've learned a lot while on this blog and hopefully will continue to learn. As always I appreciate everyone who comes here and whether you agree with me or not please continue to voice your opinions.

What is enough

I read a letter in today's USA Today stating that the fact t 4000 troops who have died is not enough reason to withdraw our troops out of Iraq. I wonder what is?

Is it the reasons we were given (all false) to go there?

Is it the cost to taxpayers?

Is it the Iraqi people don't want us there?

Is it the fact Al Queda was never there until we invaded and occupied Iraq?

Is it our troops are not properly armed in Iraq?

Is it the fact the MAJORITY of American people don't want us in Iraq?

I have so many MORE reasons to end our occupation of Iraq I can type for hours.

I always find this question interesting because I get a lot of different answers on this:

For me, more then anything separation of Church and State. I say this because I don't want religion forced on me nor would I want my religion forced on you. Why

I'm a little confused why so much attention is being put on the Pope visiting the United States. Isn't this the same organization that just brushed aside how many millions to cover up priests who molest children? Really never saying anything about it just brushing it aside?

New Info

Yesterday there was breaking news here in Los Angeles: We are going to have a large Earthquake in the next 30 years.

I've been told that since I was a kid. I understand it's going to happen. I understand it might happen sooner then later. I am as prepared as I can be but what I was hoping for (which I know is a long way away from happening) is if there is specific info. I guess they gave what fault lines are more probable and that's something BUT I think people are too complacent regarding earthquakes after all the last big Earthquake in Southern California was 14 years ago when we had the Northridge Earthquake.

Why we are in a recession

Even though fearless leader Bush denies it we are clearly in a recession. It's very simple why. Something Bush knows obviously nothing about and that's economics. Here is why we are in a recession:

A) Prices for goods are higher then when he took office

B) Wages have not gone up equal to the rise in goods

And we are in a recession.

It's that easy.

The truth

Robert you had a quote on your website that applies here that I know I'm paraphrasing so if you can give me the exact quote I'd appreciate it. The quote was something like if you make them angry your making them think. I guess that's what Barrack Obama is doing that and doing that quite well.

He made an excellent, accurate statement and as always instead of the discussion being about the statement the discussion is is Obama an elitist. That answer is obviously no and I feel he is more on the pulse of small town America then Clinton or more of the same McCain. His statement should be talked about not if he is an elitist but no one seems to be doing that. Yeah people are bitter. People blame everyone but who is responsible (and again both parties are accurately equally responsible). People are hurting. And that what was the statement.

Everyone knows I'm a huge music fan. I love watching the inductions to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame but I was looking at the list and noticed a few names I feel should be in that aren't (as of yet). Doomed??

I read an article in the Los Angeles Times and the article states how are old friend Osama Bin Laden(remember him) is doomed and is within our grasp.

Why doesn't Bush just admit he lied to us about Iraq. There is really nothing he can lose since he is already the most hated President of all time!

Of course

I just figured why Bush is in such a rush to get another free trade agreement, this time with Columbia. Columbia is well known for the drug trade and since Bush is a drug addict it makes sense. Of course why else would he want a trade agreement with that country.

Betray us

After watching alleged General Betrayus (not a typo) today just push back yet again any hope to bring our soldiers home from our occupation of Iraq and watching Bush (not coincidently) give a medal of honor to a soldier he murdered and almost look sincere it's just a sick thing to watch. It's sick to watch how he just plays the public as idiots and what's worse is the right-wing mainstream media never seems to pick up on this. It's just sad how Bush has misled this country and if more of the same McCain slimes his way into the White House it's going to get worse.

Guessing who is going to be Vice President

Right now candidates will be choosing who the Vice President choices should be. It's an important decision (especially for more of the same McCain) but let me give an idea who is on each one's short list:

McCain:
Condoleeza Rice. I think she would be a good choice for him cause she would be a hit with the right wing. Would continue his policies (since his policies are the same as Bush) and would come across strong.

Alan Greenspan. I think he would be an interesting choice cause by more of the same McCain's own admission he doesn't know about the economy.

Joe Lieberman. If more of the same McCain wants more independent voters he would pick the Democratic turncoat in Lieberman.

Mike Huckabee. If more of the same McCain wants to go after the religious right he would pick him.

Mitt Romney. Has a huge wallet and that would be a plus for more of the same McCain.



Now for Clinton/Obama if they don't pick each other.

John Edwards. Solid heathcare plan would be a plus for either. Is an expert campaigner and honestly would be the best prepared if something awful should happen to Clinton or Obama.

Bill Richardson. Great choice especially if they want to court Latino Voters

Chris Dodd. Strong on Defense. Well experienced.

Wesley Clark. Ex-General. Lots of military experience. Strong choice.

Evan Bayh. Indiana Senator would help in the midwest area

Al Gore. I know this is a longshot but a choice of him would energize the Democratic Party even more then it is now.

Eating Crow Again

Everyone knows I'm a U.C.L.A. fan and am eating crow yet again. Obviously I give credit to Memphis they were clearly the better team yesterday and were a better team then I gave them credit for all year but I just don't understand. Oh well at least they did better then U.S.C.

A topical question

Is it ok to torture terrorists to get information? That is the subject of a 2003 memo by then White House Council David Woo who said absolutely that laws do not apply. Woo said "If a government defendant were to harm an enemy combatant during an interrogation in a manner that might arguably violate a criminal prohibition, he would be doing so in order to prevent further attacks on the United States by the al Qaeda terrorist network," Yoo wrote. I THINK of course that it is wrong to torture anyone but if you read this idiots reasons in the memo it's truly bizarre. Closures

Sad day as one of my favorite hangouts, Yankee Doodles, is going to close it's doors on Monday April 7th. It's sad cause that was the only real sports bar in the West San Fernando Valley. The reason why it's closing is Westfield, the owner of local malls Topanga Plaza and the Prominade, wants to create a huge monstrosity which connects the two separate malls into one huge mall. Sad.

XM Sirius Merger

I have a couple of questions regarding the upcoming merger of XM and Sirius Satellite Radios:
(for the record I have Sirius in my car)

1) How will the merger effect the service I currently have?

2) Will I have to buy additional equipment?

3) How much will the monthly fee go up (despite what they say we know it will)

4) What stations from each company will I have access to and what stations from Sirius will they drop

Those questions will need to be answered.

So they had the sentencing of the idiot who created the problems for me and my friends a couple of months ago who ended up splitting my lip and shoving (and more ) a couple of my friends). I guess I will never understand the justice system where basically we were put on trial instead of the defendant. We had to sit there while the idiot said a phony apology ( where we wanted to throw up) and the bottom line is in my opinion is he didn't get enough. He got 30 days in jail, six months in an alcohol lockdown facility and two years probation. That's incredibly light for the mayhem he caused that night. I swear if there weren't cops with guns in the courtroom there would have been bloodshed. His.

He still doesn't have to report to jail for 30 days so I'm probably going to be a lot more alert until then.

So there we have it. The 4000th soldier died in our occupation in Iraq. The 4000th soldier Bush has ordered to his/her death because of his occupation of Iraq. Now this total may not matter to Bush or his ilk and we know he doesn't give a damn about our soldiers but you know what? This matters. It HAS to matter. This should not go unnoticed by the media and it sure as hell should be noticed in the November election cause as I said if McCain slimes his way in nothing will change. he has said nothing will change. Remember that.

5 Years Ago

So tonight is the grim fifth Anniversary of our occupation of Iraq. That's right occupation. We were told a few reasons why we were invading for instance we were told that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction (which were proven wrong) then we were told he had ties to the attacks on 9/11 (which also were proven wrong) so here we are in an occupation that has lasted longer then the Civil War, World War I AND World War II with no end in site ESPECIALLY if by some fluke that idiot McCain slimes his way into the White House as Bush has!

So here we are now with 3990 soldiers (at last check) murdered at the hands of Bush countless wounded (the Pentagon won't release the amount) several hundred thousand Iraqi's murdered at the hands of Bush people kidnapped being tortured being held WITHOUT trials at the whim of Bush. Here we are with no end in site. Here we are suffering in a recession at no small part due to the piss poor planning of the cost of the war (remember it was only supposed to last about 6 weeks at when it started according to the stupid leader).

So here we are at record gas prices (remember gas was only about $34 dollars a barrel before the occupation of Iraq) remember we were told the oil in Iraq was supposed to pay for this war? Now Bushes friends in the oil industry are making RECORD PROFITS at the breaking of backs from the common United States Citizen. You know Halliburton (Cheney's friends) are also making big money at the hands of this occupation and they are poisoning our troops there.

So the question is is it worth it. Of course Bush and Cheney say yes. but sane people say no and believe me they are not sane and if you support the occupation you are not sane. And anyone who says you don't support the troops if you don't support the occupation are equally insane.

The other question is are we safer. That answer is a resounding no! We are constantly reminded an attack can happen at any second and Bush and Republicans always pull the fear card when they need something to their advantage.

So there you have it. Bush lied us into the occupation of Iraq and if you want more of the same disaster you will vote for McCain who says we will be there for at least 100 years.

Repeat Post

I talked about this a couple of weeks ago but it's wroth repeating. The Supreme Court today heard a case concerning Washington D.C.'s gun ban. I stated then as I state now the Constitution DOES NOT state individuals have a right to bear arms. Here is the proof:

Double Standard

I would like to talk about the double standard in the media and how they cover both McCain and Obama. Now before the hatred that will come out read the whole post. First we have the incredibly hateful and disgusting comment made by Obama's Pastor which has received (rightfully) airplay from the media this week. I've always said there is no room for hatred like that. On a side note the IRS is conducting an investigation on him for the sole purpose because he is pro Obama.

Now I made a post earlier in the week about the Pastor who endorsed McCain. He made equally hateful remarks and equally disgusting remarks but there is NO IRS investigation toward him and there is little to no coverage on his remarks toward Jewish people toward the Church about having a slave sale (yes he did do that I have the link on my site) so he is getting a free ride while Obama gets the usual right wing media silent treatment.

Again both made equally hateful disgusting comments but as always the media only covers the Democrat.

Huh?

I read the Los Angeles Times today and came across a letter which stated the following in regards to Elliot Spitzer's sex scandal: " He should follow the example of David Vitter and Larry Craig" . I did some checking and I wonder what the letter writer meant. Vitter and Craig, both Republicans, are still Senators. Still in office and still doing as they please. Elliot Spitzer resigned today showing once again who the real party of ethics is.

An update

Just to remind everyone I told the story about when I got punched at Corbin Bowl. Today my friends who were involved and I had to testify against the idiot who created the problem. We did and the prick was found guilty on 6 of the 7 charges. Until sentencing I am of course going to be watching my back cause I don't know the way he was staring daggers at me the few minutes I was on the stand makes me a little nervous and my friends said the same thing. Hopefully he gets put away a long time.

He should resign

One thing you know I always try to be when I post on this site, whether you agree or disagree with what I say, is consistent with my views and opinions. I called for both David Vitter and Larry Craig to resign when there sex scandals came out and now I have to do the same for Democratic Gov. Elliot Spitzer of New York. He has been linked to a high priced prostitution ring. I always say as the party of ethics and values (Democrats, not Republicans) we have to set the example to show we, unlike Republicans, won't tolerate this behavior.

Just a question

I see where Bush, since he has no concern for rights, vetoed the bill banning waterboarding which is CLEARLY torture, saying the following: “The bill Congress sent me would take away one of the most valuable tools in the war on terror,” Bush said in his weekly radio address taped for broadcast Saturday. “So today I vetoed it,”

So I ask WHEN our soldiers get captured and WHEN they get the same treatment will YOU, you sadistic freak accept that as fair treatment or will you be outraged as sane people will be?

Proving once and for all that he is a hypocrite and he will represent the same old thing if he slimes his way into the President I see John McCain got the endorsement of George W. Bush. I'm sorry if he is the alleged maverick he claimed he was he wouldn't accept his endorsement now would he? And if you listened to him speak again he said if he slimes his way in the White House he would keep things as they have been under Bush and whoever gets the Democratic Nomination should play the clip of Bush and McCain over and over and over.

One more thing to all you Republicans who like the fact that it's taking forever to decide the Democratic Nomination for President remember back in 1992 Bill Clinton did not clinch the nomination until June. Look what happened there. As I always say those who fail to understand history (as Republicans prove repeatedly) they are doomed to repeat it!

Just remember

Tomorrow there are four primamries. Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont get their turn in deciding who the nominees are for President. As always I want to remind everyone no matter who's side you are on to go and vote tomorrow. It is your most important right and if you don't get your say in who the next Presidential nominees are you shouldn't complain if your person doesn't win. just remember to vote.

Just wondering if he will ask John McCain do denounce his endorsement that he received from equally controversial anti-semitic Pastor John Hagee? 2nd amendment

The Supreme Court is going to decide about a gun ban in very violent Washington D.C. and while we know how they will rule I wanted to take a full look at what the constitution says regarding the 2nd amendment. First here is what it says:

Get used to it

I have a suggestion for people who don't like the right-wingers using Barack Obama's middle name:

GET USED TO IT!

The fact of the matter is if Obama is the Democratic Nominee for President (and it looks more and more likely) the right will use his middle name of Hussien constantly to pray the fact that it's the same name as the former Iraqi dictator. Nevermind he really had no choice in that name and nevermind that it's not an uncommon name the right-wing want to pray on fear since they have nothing else they can use against him (at least yet)

Since the right only knows how to attack and use fear that's the only option they have right now.

Big Difference

The following is the difference between Democrats and Republicans in regards of the Iraq war: Democrats want to bring our troops home and Republicans CLEARLY do not. Never is this more evident then the following quote from Republican Kay Baily Hutchison in regards to a bill by Democrats to bring our troops home:

She said the bill would "put a bullet right in the hearts of our troops who are there." Now I'm sorry but is there a more greater insult to our troops then that? She is saying to the troops, some of them who have been there a very long time aways from there families, friends, loved ones that bringing them home would kill them. What a loser.

One more issue

I got a question: If Obama's race and Clinton's gender are issues in this election as the right is trying to make it shouldn't the fact of McCain's age be an issue as well? I want to say that first off a commentator on the golf channel was suspended for saying comments similar to that about Tiger Woods but this goes as YET ANOTHER example on how the right just preaches hate. I have so many posts and quotes about the right it's just sick. I wonder what it's going to take to get these guys suspended and fired for these racist hateful remarks that does nothing but hurt our country that they claim they are proud to be from? How many more divisions are going to be made by these hateful men and women before they are stopped.

Same Standard

With the news of John McCain's affair with a lobbyist I wold like to take you to a Senator named John McCain and a speech he gave on the Senate floor in February of 1999:

Cuba

With news this morning that Fidel Castro has resigned can the United States finally end the embargo against Cuba? This has been the most stupid situation and if Bush has any brains (I know we know he doesn't) he would end the embargo immediately.

I have never understood the animosity toward Cuba. We have relations with countries like Vietnam, China but you would think relations with Cuba, whether you agree or disagree with the view of the government there, should be normalized. Now is the perfect opportunity especially since Cuba is just about 90 miles away from the United States.

Confused

I realized something on Friday. One death is considered a tragedy but more then one a statistic. In other words no one seems to give a damn. I know this post wil sound harsh but it's a fact. Here is why I think that.

Last week a S.W.A.T. officer in Los Angeles was killed in the line of duty. In other words he did his job where it was a distinct possibility it might happen. Now don't get wrong I know he is an absolute hero but he had a funeral (at taxpayer expense) that was better then a lot of Presidents and it was absolute overkill especially by the media who felt they had to cover the event.

So the story goes how a High School in Kansas is not allowing a femake to referee for the reason according to them "as a woman, could not be put in a position of authority over boys because of the academy's beliefs."

This pisses me off to no end. We lost Democratic Rep. Tom Lantos yesterday. He was the ONLY member of Congress to survive the Holocaust and this a-hole Michael Savage has the following to say about him:

March 4th

I think we have to wait til March 4th for the final resolution of the Democratic Presidential Candidate. We have the last two big states in Texas and Ohio that day. Obama has all the momentum right now winning big on Saturday and an expected sweep tomorrow of Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.

Hillary Clinton needs to win big on March 4th or she should split the race.

Do we or don't we

I have one question that hasn't been asked and that should define whether waterboarding should be torture or not: If it happens to one of our troops would it be considered torture? I ask because if it is then we shouldn't be doing it to other countries prisoners.

Winers and Losers

So with Super Tuesday behind us now it's time to look at who won and who lost yesterday.

Winners:
John McCain. He cemented his status of the leader of the Republican Party Presidential candidate. It will take a huge run for anyone to catch him now.

Mike Huckabee. He shocked a lot of people by winning a few states showing there is some life in his campaign. If McCain was smart he would consider him to be his Vice Presidential Candidate.

Democratic Voters. A graphic showed on CNN today showed that they out-voted Republicans 14.4 million to 8.7 million. A Very good sign for November.

Barack Obama. He picked up more states then I figured but not the big ones that were up for grabs.

Losers:

Mitt Romney. He only picked up 5 states yesterday. He has the money to stay in the race but the question is will he?

Hillary Clinton. Maybe the bar was set too high and she won some states that were leaning toward Obama but reports indicate that her campaign is struggling and she had to do what Romney does and put $5 million of her money in her campaign.

The delegate process. It's confusing, especially the Democratic way of choosing delegates and the fact there is no winner take all like there is in there is in the Republican Party. And the fact that with the alleged "super delegates" who can vote anyway they want who might not lean toward the voters will might turn off a lot of people in November.

Anyway that's my view

Just Remember

As tomorrow is primary day just remember whether you vote for a Democrat or Republican just vote tomorrow. It is as important of an election for either party so vote for the person you like the best.

Wow

The Super Bowl was one of the greatest upsets in history. I thought the game would be close but the too talented Patriots would win. Boy was I wrong. I got the margin of victory right but I picked the wrong team. At least I made the right wager
