Conflict of Interest

Robert just to give you an example I'd like to talk about a case Roberts ruled on recently. This is in today's Los Angeles Times. The case, Hamdan vs. Rumsfeld, was a case where Rumsfeld was sued due to the fact he IS violating the Geneva Convention, which guarentees basic human rights, by holding the detainees at Guantanamo Bay without access to lawyers and holding "secret" military tribunals.

Judge Roberts ruled in Rumsfeld's favor. That is on the record but what stinks about this is while hearing the case, Judge Roberts was interviewing for the seat on the Supreme Court vacated by Sandra Day O'Connor's leaving.

And if you are telling me that there was not a conflict of interest I'd like to know the meaning of the word.
