Again it's who you know. The head of the Red Cross, Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, is a big donor for George Bush.
Bonnie McElveen-Hunter Chairman of the board for the Red Cross, and Marsha J. Evans the President and CEO of the Red Cross have donated large amounts of money to the republican party and so-called president George W. Bush.
McElveen-Hunter donated $25,000 to the Republican National Committee in April 2004 and $100,000 in July 2000. In May 2000, she gave $1000 to "Bush for President, Inc." and as a reward Bush appointed her head of the Red Cross and Evans donated a measly $500.
And I'm not naive enough to say that hasn't happened in every administration in the past I'm sure it has but again we look at the conflicts of interest in the current administration and the fact instead of appointing trained professionals he hires his friends.
